Ok, so, I’m wondering about a few things here. I have a 440 I am building and will be putting in my notch. I am planning on using a qa1 k member, cutting off the mounts and using Andy F’s motor plate and TTI’s. Is there anything I am missing here? I hate to have to cut the new member, but if I’m using the plate, who cares?
Thanks

I ran the QA1 setup. It's nice stuff and works well.

As you are aware they are a biscuit style K member and setup for a SB. I haven['t seen any solid evidence that it can be used or modified to use with a BB.

In my opinion and if it were my car, I would try using their passenger mount and modding or fabbing the DS mount.

I ended up selling all my factory stuff and buying an AlterKation. Best thing I ever did. Spool mounts, Rack and pinion, handles like a new car.

Yea, I know they are post 73 sb biscuit style. That is why I am looking to cut the mounts off and run the plate. Figured it would give me room for headers and while still utilizing the torsion bar set up. Essentially, if my stock K was decent, to my understanding, I could run it bare with the plate.

Here is a pic of my Friends 71 Duster. He has the QA1 k frame. He had a 440 in it first but I don’t remember if he was useing a engine plate at the time. Also I lost the pic. But here is the same car but with a Gen III Hemi he just put in the car. With this engine he is useing a engine plate

TTI headers fit fine with the stock or AlterKation setup. They can be tight to the tbars, but they fit. The Kmember has more of an impact on oil pan fitment but again, a moroso road race pan fits either.
