This my Drag Week build meant for 2018,though I did not get in but trying to keep the deadline of September to get her done.
I bought this dart in 2011 and it stay parked in my garage....
Time to get her done.

Mini tubs done and S&W 8pt cage has arrived .
Frame connector next,torque boxes,then cage goes in.

Nope on waiting list,told between 251-300 so this year's out but will be ready next year. Completely forgot to register till afternoon.

Color is Nissan sunset red, and yes keeping the color but it needs to be redone.
Yup cop wheels for rollers for now.
I been hoarding parts for this car for years...
 
Ok gota ask did you hook up the trunk springs again , the pipe you have welded in between the hindges is for ? I would assume to keep stuff in shape and did you leave it in , I’m just starting the same job also the outer most inner fenders did you remove them as well . Cheers

We put the pipe in between hinges to hold hinges in place and we removed trunk for better access.
Did not take trunk springs out,they stayed in the whole time.
On the tubs just cut inners out,then floor to frame.
Just went by the directions on big block dart:

Looks like a great build. Too bad about Drag week. I made it in somehow. Trying now to make the Dart faster and hope to have the bugs worked out by September
 
Just got email that my seats will not ship till around May 12...
Forgot to order 2x3 tubing for the frame rail connectors so doing nothing this weekend and in a way I need time off...been working my shop 7 days a week since the 1st of the year.

Running the 71 Dart in my avatar. Did DW for the first time last years and it was a blast! Made a lot of friends. Car was in the low 12s/high 11s last year so I wasn't very competitive in Street Machine Eliminator. Needed to average 10.97 to make it in the top 32 to get into the bracket race on the last day.

On the way home last year I told my wife, "by God I'm making it into the top 32 Bracket Race next year". So..... The magnum 5.9 is getting a Procharger and 10 lbs of boost. Shooting for 10.50s this year. It's all stock junkyard bottom end so I assume it will scatter at some point. The. I'll build a forged bottom end and turn up the boost

I'm going twin turbo on my 66 Dart and running the build 318 I tool out of my 74 Dart.
I am building a 416 for boost also...so if I blow the teen,I have a backup.
I was going to sign up for Street Machine Eliminator as well.
I will be rooting for ya !!!
 
Friday,I scheduled work light so I would be free to work on my Dart while my mechanic took care of the other cars.
Put the dart on the lift and pulled the 7 1/4 rear end out whole leaf springs and all.
Hey ,I could make a trailer out of it for DW !!!

Today, I found my RMS spring relocation kit,
I bought about 7 years ago.
I drilled out the spot welds on my emergency cable brackets and removed them.
After measuring ,leveling and mrasuring I cut out the left side and got in roughed in for now.Will fine tune tomorrow and hopeful get right side ready also.
One way to get things done is to tie up a lift at work...

Thanks Mike ,It is in pretty good shape except some rust covered up when painted before I bought it.
