Could Chrysler Be Killed This Friday?

-
All of the technical advances with electronics are great. However, when a car is on its 4th or 5th owner, the price point of the car is probably very affordable. But, the cost to repair/replace the high tech stuff like adaptive cruise control or collision avoidance sensors will most likely remain expensive. I imagine some person happy to buy a aging great car for a reasonable amount, and that equipment quits working, many owners will choose not to fix it. And like Hellrat posted, many of the modules may not be available to replace.
Who the Hell needs cruise adaptive ( WTF????) control and avoidance sensors??????? Makes people sound like completely and utterly incompetent!!?????????? WTF would they do with a clutch and carb??? Sorry! LOL

And....... Since how many decades has Mother Mopar actually dn cit for the old car enthusiast? and what do they do for the guy buying a new Challenger ??????? Don't have one at my age never will, but.. Floormats!????? I have to wonder. Maybe I am too critical!

I just looked at a new 300 and I like how they have copied the aftermarket by making them with the Bentley style grill with the Chrysler winged logo , not such a fan of how they are rounding the front end I like the older versions to be honest but the current version is a heck of a lot better than no version . Of course you may see everybody pulling their manufacturing business out of your country the way your government is trying to extort the rest of the world , it's only a matter of time before the retaliation starts shutting down your industry .

Really ? I mean Really ? building the baddest **** car ever built for public sale counts for nothing eh ? Show me another maker that offers a mega hp upgrade for 1 dollar . the Demon crate upgrade is literally a crate shipped to you full of parts and the tools to install them for 1 dollar , figure it out bud , better question wtf does GM or Furd do that so great for their customers , can you go to any Chivvy based show and hot lap a Rousch Racing Vet ? because you can go hot lap a Hellcat for free .

I really like my 2012 300C...

yeah that is nice , I'm leaning towards an 05/06 300C I like the squarer look in the front end .
I like that generation 300 too. I would have bought one back in ‘06 but then they released the Charger SRT 8 and I just had to have one. Still have it too, just swapped in a 3.92 Getrad LSD rear dif, 1000 hp axles and 2 piece aluminum driveshaft a couple of weeks ago.

I got my wife a new Pacifica and it a really nice vehicle. Got 29 mpg on highway and is super quiet in the cabin and the stow and go is sweet. Also the new look is nicer than any other brands vans.

Cool I've been dancing around buying a 300C looking for certain colours etc... had a shot at a 2009 SRT with the 6.4 , only had like 80k miles and the guy was asking 14k cdn I kept trying to getbhim to take 10k and it was up for sale for almost a year along with another higher mileage unit for 10k , the first one sold and the second sold the next day so I hosed myself on them both , guess I wasn't the only one playing them against each other eh LOL .Hard to get the colours I am looking for in a C most are white , black or silver .

I saw a press release the other day for the Hellcat powered Cherokee being available , be nice to let someone else eat the new car depreciation and grab one of those in a couple of years .

Best way to get one is gently used. Big depreciation drop, but the vehicle is still in great condition. Kinda like how I got my $45k 300C for $17k at 4 years old.

"This is how much u know!" we have an utterly stupid exchange rate, all the world laughs at our politicians that can be bought by the special interest groups. I say charge them what they charge us , and to hell w/ all who don`t like it !!!!!

I own a 2013 300 Hemi its awesome. I was hoping they were going to make Hellcat version. I'm not interested in the new Charger or the Challenger

I admit the future of Chrysler, Fiat or who ever owns that at any given time, is selling new vehicles. I also admit Mother Mopar has always been gifted in the engineering dept., but as we all know, lacking in management. I am at the retire age (poor) and I will never own a new any vehicle, and buying a used one is far down on my bucket list.
If Mopar was smarter, they would have given more attention to the enthusiasts of their OLD cars the last few decades. For the most part, people of my generation, out time is getting pretty much done. BUT Mopar can do more to fuel the "fire" in the present day buyer of their cars, especially the high performance models, jeeps, and even the luxury/performance car. Maybe I just don't keep up with it.

Step son has alsmost 2 yr old Ram 1/2 t. with the eco diesel. Hloves it, great mileage, but last year it developed a coolant leak, took them 5 times at dealer to find the friggin leak!! Go figure!!!
AND..... Keeping parts on hand at dealership to fix what they have sold, is basic, not extras!!!!!

Sounds like a plan to me , no more exchange rate, our dollar back to par plus supply side economics , 100% export tax on all Canadian raw resources including oil , you don't want to pay ? buy it somewhere else , hard to make the aluminium you export without our bauxite buddy and I'm sure the Arabs and South Americans will feel sorry for you and cut you a price break for rheir oil LOL .Now back to the topic .

Hoping to score a 2008 with 60k miles on at an auction tomorrow , dealer auction open to the public but with a reserve .

As stated previously, let's hop in our DeLorian...

Mid 90's, Chrysler is hot as hell. Got the new rams flying off the shelves, got neons moving out like nobodies business, Got viper, got Plymouth hitting the low, Chrysler hitting the high, and dodge hitting the pipe. ******* TONS of money in the bank.

And the Krauts came marching in. They smelled the big pile of cash, and the raping commenced.

It was, literally, Chrysler success that brought the pillaging hordes.

So stow the talk about poor management and how the company was always sick. They got raped to death. First by the Germans, then the Italians. The Japanese are probably getting sloppy thirds.

ha, everything always seems to run in cycles, Mopar? 60's, smalelr of the three, not too bad; end of 70's, NO quality in general, poor magt: 80's Lee gets er done, 90's things are good, sold out to the devil, and a few more devils?? and so it goes, up and down and back and forth.

,,,,,,, everything always seems to run in cycles, Mopar? 60's, smaller of the three; end of 70's, NO quality in general, poor management; 80's , Lee fixes it all; 90's, all I good,...... till the rapes begin,,, 2000, then someone invents performance again, and those with $ have real new car that are FAST,.....NOW, we are waiting till the dust settles and see whats left???

Chrysler remains alive...

People have been "talking nonsense" with speculation over Fiat and Chrysler brands, Marchionne said. "This presentation's focus is on global brands. I think Chrysler is going to continue to be relevant in the U.S. Don't expect it to be a global brand."

Detroit icon Chrysler, saved out of bankruptcy by Fiat, was the subject of speculation before the meeting that it would die as a brand. The company said it plans to make most capital investments in next five years in global brands — just 25% will go to Chrysler, Dodge and Fiat. So investments are still planned, but not at levels near Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

FCA is also now totally debt free and can focus on building its future without debt constraints.

barbee6043 is right in saying what has Mopar done for the classic hobby? Can't buy a crate 360, 440, or old 426. Chrysler came late to the game with the new "plug-in the modern Hemi to classic Mopar" offering. GM has been offering crate engines and performance parts for decades in support of the older stuff, and now has many parts to support the LS platforms. Ford Performance has several crate engines offered, new and old designs. Ford also sponsors many events where customers can try out performance parts, with Ford technicians installing the parts. Haven't seen a Roush Corvette, where did you?

.
