Are we dealing with something serious here, or can I ask what their return policy is on that item?

That's not a bad price...most responsible thing you can do is pay for your own funeral. I wonder if I could buy a couple of them and set them around the house, maybe store blankets in it or something...

I told my wife to bbq me and sprinkle me in her chille. So i can tear her up one last time

I spent my entire life on a cheap mattress trying to get a good night sleep. not really thinking of spending $999 on a casket that will be of no use. Gonna spend my money on My old car to make it go faster, just put me behind the the wheel dig a hole and stuff the old car and me straight down and bury us both. Play the old song at my funeral on a high way to hell and I will be there in no time.

All kidding aside gents, on account that this is close to heart when it comes to making a living....and believe me....business is dead. Many ppl strive for many things in life, make plans to purchase a house, car and old car, parts etc... All Good, yet not many contemplate that this event will eventually come to bear fruit at your domain. You may not get that Hemi Cuda you always wanted, That Superbird you wanted will never cease to be but Old man Ripper will still tax you when time comes.
Worse yet, his fees can be costly and if you haven't set aside a few bucks, it will be embarrassing for those you leave behind. Sure, you don't give a flying phukk now, your problems are No More. Albeit, your wife, husband, son daughter worse yet a parent will have to settle your score.
Think of those that may have to 'ask" a friend, neighbor relative for a few bucks to bury your sorry ***....
Ppl think, I won't spend money on caskets and burial grounds, Im going to be cremated and my ashes will be scattered in my A body trunk...WRONG.
Check again the prices for a cremation, do you think its free to be put in an oven (against the law to have a BBQ and finish it up with you) when they pull you from the oven where do you think you will be out in, a Pepsi can ? A vase is money again, then depending where and how you want to be "scattered" it will cost money again..

I know its a creepy subject for many if not morbid, but you can't be a "little pregnant" You are better off preparing yourself...even with monthly payments now and know your are "ready to go" if the light goes out.
Just a thought....

So true MAPS all kidding aside, the last thing I would do to my family is make them pay to plant me in the ground.

Yup I hear you loud and clear..unfortunately not many see it like that or they think, that won't happen to me, bla bla bla.....
I don't believe there are much worse predicaments you can place on your loved ones than having them have to find money to bury for sorry *** ....because of your procrastinating ways, let alone wary of thinking.
I've seen many...and I mean, many ! Families have to go thru the pain of losing a loved one and now having to ask for help (monetary wise) to bury you.
Ok top of all that pain of losing the loved one like I said I don't think it's as bad as the "embarrassment" of not being able to bury him/her on account of money....and everyone now knows about for personal dilemma.
WoW, I don't know about others but I dislike the fact that my neighbor, co-worker even family member might have heard me and my wife actually arguing about something. I don't want anyone to know what happens in my house, period.
Ergo, the expression. Personal.
Anyhow...that's just me. If people don't care about what others may think of them...with regards to the respect they show/showed their loved ones. Chances are they don't care if anyone knows their dirty laundry....
In a way I kind of respect that, for they are much better than me....Damn I hate at times when my times (@ track) are shown to everyone present, while in trying to tune the car to its best abilities...lol
Go figure.

P.S. Feed over 70 bulldogs, I don't even let others know what I feed them or what or may cost me...lol
My wife laughs at me, says that the dogs are under cover with an unlimited feed budget.

I DONY KNOW WHY THIS HAS BEEN MOVED.I BOUGHT 2 OF THEM.THIS AINT NO JOKE.ONLY A SELF CENTERED PUKE LEAVES THEIR FAMILY WITH A MESS WHEN THEY DIE!

On a very serious note: think about this one.

When was the last time you saw a Chrysler hearse?

Please get it in your will that your last ride to the grave isn't in some crappy goddamn Cadillac hearse. Get that Mopar casket carrier lined up now. They're hard to find!

We have our final retirement place all picked and paid for. It's a luxurious 12x12x12 spot in a place with a view. Our feet won't get wet so everything is good. Our ashes will be conjoined and be with each other forever.
Just be careful when planning a funeral or arranging for a recent passing. These people seem to pounce on people when they are at their most vulnerable. They try and slip in charges that don't even apply so while you're grieving you have to be right on the ball.

Funerals are a strange and stupidly expensive thing. Back in '84 I helped my wife with her mother's funeral. The strangest part was visiting the casket showroom. You can get a plain pine box for $900 or work your way up to something really fancy for several thousand dollars, guaranteed to not leak for 100 years, or something like that. Unbelieveable.

We just went through this last week... My father inlaw passed and we had the funeral last week.

Even though they had done a lot of pre-planning, there was a lot of details that needed to be worked out... and money pulled out of my pocket for things that were above and beyond the pre-planning. Example... It was $1400 to open the mausoleum so his casket could be inserted... Yea.. $1400 to remove 4 bolts and take a 100 lb granite door off. A obit in the local paper was over $200.

I have a cemetery plot, but we've been talking about getting everything wrapped up. My Mom's funeral was pre-planned and pre-paid. We even got a few bucks back from interest made on the pre-payment. Compared to my Dad's where I had to do everything, it was easy.

It's a stressful time and a lot of people with their hand out.... Hard to make decisions when you are crying.

Learned a long time ago how hard it is for others when someone dies.
My wife died at the age of 46 and had no money for the funeral, Had 8 kids all living at home the youngest was 2 and the worst part was we were visiting friends in another state 1500 miles from home.
I learned my lesson MAPS.
And not going to ask why you have 70 bulldogs because I like dogs and I have 8 kids 14 grand kids and get tired of people telling me I am over populating the Earth.

Sorry for your loss Big_John.
