Can someone tell me what was originally used to seal between the front fenders & aprons? I seem to recall something that looked like adhesive backed cork stuck on the apron part? If someone has a photo of a car without a fender that shows this stuff that would be very helpful. Thanks!Rod in Wi.

Seam sealer. Most auto body paint stores sell it in tubes that will fit a caulking gun.

Some had a strip of adhesive backed foam stuff like door/window weather strip from a hardware store where others had a bead of sealant scribbled along. Which is correct for your year model Plymouth build? Which holds more water? Does it need anything at all? I don't know, even though a lot of opinions have been stated in earlier threads.

I haven't stripped out that many cars but the ones I did, didn't have anything at all.
When I bolted my fenders on, I installed a strip of closed-sell foam. I poked the bolts right thru it. That was 1999/~135,000 miles ago, and the 1968 fenders are still good there. She was my DD for many of those years.
