Found the original bill of sale when I bought my new '68 Charger R/T... In wife's name for insurance purposes.

Keep staring, your eyelids are getting heavy... You want to send Krooser $10...

Finally... did some resizing on my desktop.

Drove this car for a couple weeks on dealer tags. I worked at Dodge City from '69 until late '69... line mechanic. My trade was likely my '63 Pontiac Gran Prix. The deal was 'subject to finacing'... that got done BUT the insurance was a problem. Seems I had too many tickets, accidents and one revocation. I could get insured thru the state's bad driver pool but, at $1800.00 per year, paying one third of my yearly income for insurance really didn't make sense so I never completed the deal...

Hurts just to think about it.

What did you trade in?
'63 Gran Prix as I recall.

I had a lot of 50's and 60's Pontiacs back then... two Oldsmobiles, too. I was a GM guy... graduated from GM Training School in '68 but couldn't get a job at a GM store so I got hired at Dodge City. I did front end work on Wednesday nights and a/c and general repairs days.

It went just the opposite for me, I had Mopars and worked for GM when I graduated from high school. I was the auto body repairman for a GM dealership. I went to GM technical classes at night and they paid for it. I drove the only Mopar in the parking lot.
