Fascinating. For about $300, that's a pretty decent upgrade to a cruiser. I with they'd done a little to make it look more "vintage," but I guess that's how they keep the price so low.
They reworked the instrument cluster that’s going in my 65 Dart by adding digital gauges.
Yes, that’s a 66 Barracuda cluster!
And I have their modules for headlight delay and turning whatever electrical components I choose off when either door is opened and the ignition is off and slowly dimming the overhead lights. They have some great stuff!
I just installed a Rostra universal 250-1223 cruise control in my "65. Cost at Amazon is $209. Relatively easy install. The hard part is knowing which dip switches to use. I used a magnet pick up on the drive shaft and a turn signal control switch which are extra purchases.
I placed the unit under the dash and ran the push/pull cable to the carb through a cut firewall insulation plug. It's really concealed and is not visible under the factory air cleaner.
I also wired a factory 1970 cruise control turn signal switch from a B body for a period correct look.
I used the metal speedo cable module which bolted in without the adapter cable. Some clearance grinding on the metal cable module to clear the transmission cross member was required as well as some grinding on a cross member bolt.
I absolutely love having cruise control. I installed it prior to doing the HOTROD Power Tour where we were driving to the tour for 10 hours and home from the tour for 14 hours.
The only issue I had was surging after I installed it but was resolved when I reduced the sensitivity to low on the gain.

I have had cruise control on all my cars ever since I bought a '76 Pontiac Gran LeMans with factory cruise. The system I have on my '65 is the unit I installed on my '48 Plymouth. On the Barracuda I mounted the control box on the left inner fender. The control s/w looks the same as the early GM cruise control switches.
I will be using an 80 J Body column shift steering column in my 47 Dodge sedan which has the cruise function already in the turn signal shaft BUT also has the wiper switch as well which I do not want nor can use with the original wiper motor. I haven’t really looked at it but if I can remove the stalk, then I will most like use my used one.
I will keep you in mind should plans change
Here’s the turn signal stalk I pulled out of a 73 or 74 A Body that had all the factory cruise components.
