The company thats selling these "***-kicking" engines with "all the tricks" state they dyno the engine with "Speedway 92 octane gas, right out of the pump".....that's certainly the icing on the cake for that kind of money. Its gotta be better than gas right from :

I don't see where anybody insulted the guy. I said he did a dumb thing. That's not an insult. That's truth. We all do dumb things. He's the one who pulled the insult bar first. I know some people in the hills of Appalachia and they will tell you real quick when you do somethin stupid and have no trouble with it. Maybe you're a transplant.

Ebay and PayPal offer buyers assurance. When you bypass that, you take your chances. It's too bad that it happened. I truly hope the engine turns out good for you.

There are three things in the picture of why I would not buy from them.
The block rust looks like it was cleaned with a can of WD40.
The deck looks like it was cut in the 70's with old style inserts.
Using studs without oil mods to the studs starve the rockers shafts for oil .I see the sprayers in the covers they do not put oil between the shafts and rockers for extended use on the street. Check out the length of the guides on the ebay engine pictures. they wre never cut down they were left whole as the were installed
Just look at the assembly. Its not clean at all. and the CNC ports look like they were massaged with a stone.
This guy and anyone who buys from them is screwed. He Should have kept ebay protection.Motors like this are cheap for a reason. labor elimination either they don't know or they don't care. But that is no excuse to buy from them. Look at the filth.
If my heads had that much carbon build up after a couple dyno runs I would start over. My full exhaust was cleaner.
The poster came on here to vent. He didn't know and he got taken. No he did not have the knowledge. He doesn't like being wrong like many of us. But he is a member and we all should listen to his bad choice with reminders on what not to do.
Chuck I am truly sorry for your purchase and wish you luck. You did this to yourself . You stepped off the curb without looking both ways. Now you have to heal on your own. One positive thing is this thread may save another member from making the same mistake.
Do you all honestly think the seller tore that thing down for pictures after the dyno run. And now he is going to re-clean and reassemble with new gaskets. A good motor gets 10-15 pulls wrap it with stretch wrap and its out the door. Not tear it down for pictures dirty after the build. Unless there was a problem with it.
This is a clean block and proper oiling mod for studs also a picture of the proper guide length on fresh heads and this is a used engine getting a refresh not everything new. They are used heads and pistons being used over after 800 hard miles at 8000 RPMs.
I wouldn't buy a Briggs&stratten mower engine from them. Chuck if I were you I would have a local machine shop tear that motor down as soon as you get it . Just check it and clean it. Gaskets are cheaper then another motor. You'll be able to down load the cam specs once you have the Pn.#. Put king bearings in it Do the head studs for oil and install Total seal rings. There is many other small mods you can do to the oiling if they didn't do it.
I installed a motor like this once. It lasted about 5 minutes. most of it ended up in the mufflers.Probably came from the same *** hole. Not one part was usable I couldn't even reuse the intake. The last pictures
