:poke::poke: I went to an orthopedic surgeon today, more like his PA. She looked very closely at my latest MRI. And then showed me exactly how sadistic she was....holy hell do I hurt :mad::mad::rofl::rofl::realcrazy::realcrazy:.
She poked at some of the areas she suspects are causing some of my lumbar pain. Instead of being used as a human pin cushion like the pain clinic was doing she is going to treat me in a logical, methodical manner.
Have you ever been in so much pain that you are physically exhausted?

Well I guess the important question, Doug, is "did she find any answers?" You may remember that I broke some ribs this winter ON a THERAPY table. I'm pretty much worse off now than a year ago. I still hurt, the winter has not been kind, and I bet my blood sugar and bp is up. I have an appointment this coming Tuesday....................

I just made a June 24 appt. for my second knee replacement. First was 9/16. Got a new shoulder 10 years ago, too.

Now if I could ditch the five herniated discs, degerative disc disease, spinal stinosis and junk sacroilliac joint I have I'd be in ok shape.

Oh yeah...forgot about the normal pressure hydrocephaly. They want to tap my brain to drain off excess fluid. Got enough holes in my head now.

Yes...and no...she is going to disregard all of the crap that the pain clinic has done. She said all that they were doing was "throwing darts". She is going to start from the beginning in an attempt to actually find where the pain is coming from. The results from my MRI and the results from my physical exam both are pointing in different directions. She wants to try and pinpoint where the pain is actually starting at and go from there. First up...a CT scan guided epidural at the L4-5 area. She is pretty sure that is where the bulk of my pain is coming from. Right now the plan is for me to have the epidural and see her 2 weeks afterwards for a "well, how do you feel" follow up. She said that I don't have anyone major problem, that mine is pile of small problem that equate to a major pain in the ***.....literally. If she she treats me the way she made it sound like she is going to..in a one step at a time, logical, methodical approach I am pretty sure we will make some progress. She has not tried to push PT or Stem Cell therapy down my throat like all the other places have.

Is she cute?
Yup...she is....

Sacroiliac joint...yup, can relate. Mine are EXTREMELY arthritic. One of the things she mentioned after my exam was that she is pretty confident that a properly placed epidural is going to go along ways. In addition to the stenosis I have a problem of sorts with my Pectineus muscle...
Pectineus muscle - Wikipedia
The doc told us several times that the epidural, while it may provide me some relief...is only being used as a tool in an attempt at finding a more permanent solution.
I am lucky, relatively speaking. I don't have any herniated discs....from my online chart....Disorder of SI (sacroiliac) joint, Degeneration of lumbar or lumbosacral intervertebral disc, Spinal stenosis of lumbar region without neurogenic claudication,Chronic midline low back pain with left-sided sciatica.

I did make her laugh...she asked me what led to the pain...I told her life....hell, can't get anymore truthful....:rofl::rofl:

I went through Rotator Cuff surgery in December and before the surgery I was scheduled to see the doctor. He explained what he was going to do and pointed to the chart on the wall a few times. I had a mole between my eyes on my forehead and asked if he could remove it with the laser while I was under and he said sure, anything else you want done.........with that I asked if he did penile implants. He looked like he was going to pass out!!

Sounds like you have a carbon copy of my lower back. Even the Pectineus muscle on both thighs.
I know what your going thru and what's coming.

Well....the fun will begin next Friday. Think my appointment is at 1:30. Told me that their protocol is I spend minimum of 90 minutes in the recovery room. With the amount of pain I have been in the past few days I truly hope this is the beginning of something positive....

I went through some therapy for my feet with this plantar fasciitis. The girl doing it was SUPER cute and built like a well........you know. She always wore LOW cut tee shirts and was always bending down RIGHT in front of me........girl knew EXACTLY what she was doin. LOL Kitty learned all the stuff she was doing and started doing it for me at home. We ain't been back. LOL

Ernie recently had a heel spur removed. When the doc was in her foot he snipped, did not cut it entirely just a snip, the tendon that causes plantar fasciitis. She is still not completely recovered from having her foot cut on so we have no idea if it actually worked.

If she is cute, tell her that "someone said" that your **** tastes funny and you want her opinion... :p

Sounds like a win/win. Hows the farting coming?

My wife is on a medical retirement because of her back. Sometimes its nice just having a little hope things will get better. In my prayers, Doug.

Sorry about the Mrs. Thanks for the prayers...

Bit of an update. OI had the CT guided Epidural yesterday. After inserting whatever they use to get the steroids in the doc pushed some iodine in, did not like the way it looked and decided a second attempt would be in order. Typical of when I have steroid injections I was wired last night, hardly slept. Woke up to a pleasant surprise, a noticeable drop in pain. I loaded all of my camera gear in the truck and headed out to the Airway X, the motocross track. There is a 2 day race going on. Have had a lot of rain the past couple of days, place was a swamp. Was digging thru my bag of junk I haul, forgot my pain meds. Have been wanting to climb the big dirt pile they have the end of the track, looked like a good perch for a fat guy with a camera. In the past I would have never done this, as any type of incline was brutal on my back. Went up & down the thing at least 15 times today. Back was hurting, almost to the point of prior to the shot. BY the time I made the hour trip home in my truck...back to how I felt this morning when I left. Hmmm....

At least you got a good days memories and hopefully some nice pics to go with it.

Nothing like some relief after eons of pain. Along with that comes better rest. Better rest helps relax the muscles, taking pressure off the joints.
Hope there it some relief in your future.
I would like a few pain free days myself.
