My 318 is overhauld, bored .30 over kb pistons, new internals, but everything stock except the pistons they make +5cc. And ive got a mild cam for low end torq. And edelbrock performer and holley 600. Now im wondering can the engine take any boost at all.. ive got a set of indy 360 hi-lax heads coming also.. 62cc but with 1.93 valve..

I would say so, that's a nice low compression engine, perfect for boost
what did your C R calculate to?

Let me put something in perspective about my experience with boosted applications at your level of build.

The buick Grand National can take a pounding and other than the crankshaft it was basically a 231 V6 in mass production for GM. Others will chime in but I would not hesitate to go this route. Plan on getting some good MLS headgaskets for starters.....

You certainly can. However the hyper pistons should be researched first. You may need to open the top ring gaps if they are Keith Blacks. Also, don't get the tune wrong or those pistons will shatter. They can take some abuse. But they are not designed for the abuse a poorly tuned supercharged setup will impart.

All the above, make sure to get the proper microfinish for the MLS gaskets, and a set of Milodon head studs is a good investment, too. Generally, four pounds of boost will raise compression one to one and one half points, according to how well the heads flow. 5-6 pounds is generally accepted as the safe limit on a stock bottom end. I would possibly add a snow performance water/methanol setup and definitely a boost timing master controller. If you have to re gap the rings anyway, it may be best to upgrade to a set of these. 318 Dodge CHRYSLER Forged Pistons L2406F .030 Over Obsolete Set of 8 for sale online | eBay
