Anyone know the history on this car?

Pretty much ignore the announcer at the track. Same stories every week...how they used to street race "back in the day" etc. He often gets the years of the cars wrong. Every small block Mopar is a Magnum....every big block is a Magnum....including Chris Whites 540" built from an Indy aluminum block.
He did make mention that this car has been a race car since day one. "340 Magnum with a gear banging 4 speed" is how he announced it the one time I did listen to him. Older guy, think he was in his early 70's was the driver.

<~~~~ Survived my teens listening to Steve Evans when he was the track manager/announcer at Irwindale Raceway :lol:The old Irwindale, the one under the Miller Beer Brewery.

I don't know anything about it, but it's bitin HARD.

Yes, Jim Devine, good friend of mine. The car is just plain brutal. He’s run the car since 76. G/S. Basicly a stock 340. It’s one of two stick cars in the nation running class. Oh, by the way, he’s in his mid 70s, has his own machine shop, does flow testing and runs a stocker.

nice. looks to me that everyone here that want's a 340 built needs to talk to him

Stand in line

He’s built the last 4 motors for me, 2 273s, two 452 strokers and the 383 in my GTS. The two motors that impressed me the most were the Strokers.

I recognize that Duster! I moved to Oregon in 94 and saw it at my home track for 22 years. Woodburn Dragstrip in woodburn Oregon. I dont think I ever met the owner but watched it for many seasons ripping up the competition. That was really cool seeing it here!

I also saw the car run at Spokane several times in the past.
The guy who owned it was very nice and the car ran good numbers consistently.
Looked good too..........

The thing I noticed , it sure didn`t hold the wheels up very long. Not taking anything away from it !!
