Local cruise in/car show downtown Friday night, too! Lol
This was the only picture and my wife took it. Dang it. There was a cool daily driver 70 Charger. And a hot 65 Belvedere. Three Mopars.

It'll get the ice cream home before it melts!

Jeff
Not slow, but just a cruiser 360. Saving up for the 408 next year.:steering:
I'm going to keep tuning on it get as much out of it as I can until then.

Thanks man! Getting anything done with yours?
Moparmandan, your build thread is inspiring me, I follow it. I have a lot to learn, so between life, buying a couple of tools, and parts here and there, I am getting somethings done on my Scamp. My goal is on the road (finished?, will it ever be?) by it's 50th birthday (Aug 29, 2024). I should also say also say that is about my projected retirement date!

Good! Glad you liked it.
Enjoy your journey!

Heck yea that is awesome! Good to see you enjoying it! Love that car, I'm so jealous!

Nice looking car!
All of my cars past, present, or in the future have been grocery getters and always will be!
Sometimes they are more beer getters than grocery getters though...........
lol

Dan you are the man!! Looking great and super practical !!! Keep up the good work..

Love daily drivers, our's is also a daily driver//grocery getter-@7 mpg, but hey, I would of drove it every day back then.
Nice job on the Scamp, for a minute I thought that was the *original paint. It looks good the way it sets. I was wondering about your exhaust setup, was it a hard fit? What's the actual size is your tubing, 2 inch?
I really want to do that to our 75 Sport. I actually think I can do it with the stuff thats under her now too. 2½ and 2¾ mixed-and all stainless-from the header back.
Your wife likes it, and so does mine, she likes ours. So has your wife come to you with any ideas about what she wants to do with her? I stammered when Baby started talking about "more horsepower". Better make sure the old metal can contain what she wants first !!!
*Second look is saying thats original paint thats seen some care.

It was originally a B5 car but it had one early overspray for some reason. It was never wrecked. The second spray is a little off shade or something. There are spots where the second paint job is wearing off and the original B5 is showing through. The pictures make it look better. It's pretty beat but I'm kind of digging it for now.
The exhaust is manifolds with TTI head pipes and a two and a half inch Jegs kit. For do-it-yourself job it really fit pretty well. Can't complain too much. My wife doesn't get involved too much on the actual wrenching. But she loves to ride with me. Thanks for the kind words. The interior of your car car looks really nice. Are there more pictures on here?

It just looks like it's been cared for, wish my camera would take the swirls out of that old enamel, and she should look so good! But hey, I was looking at a close to B5 color that was factory on a 65 Imperial, looked original, it had pony spots from oversprays, you had to really look t find them though.
I'm putting together some for the garage. I got zip with the car when we got it. An old registration from Montana, and the delivery pamphlet, I'm looking it through, trying to contact the person who used to own it in '93, and that person is now working as County Clerk for Beaverhead County Montana-makes it just all that much harder believe it or not, and have found where it was before Portland, over in Idaho with a run down on it, pic's and pre paint goodies. They deleted antenna, sport mirror, turn signal fender marker on top and the right front had been crunched, windshield is same then as now-cracked top to bottom center. I'm afraid to pull the back seat, I don't think it's ever been out, or shows no sign of it being out. Had a (one of many)Duster, had a bad odor in it, finally pulled the back seat
The interior is one to use as an example of how to not destroy the stitching in an original seat material. They dyed it black, over white, and it does not fade, but the stitching has been eaten up from the chemicals, it's all bad, but we will go back with the split bucket bench, and same with the pass through. It was covered, screwed, and made kinda non usable, which is gonna change at some point too.
Like I said, I'm 62 and Baby is 67, so this is the last one, not going to rush, and have some fun with it-maybe do that one I was gonna have after high school-this was my pick then, and had to drive an old 68 Charger 440 auto...worked then, wish I had it now, in any condition, it would fund the Dart!!!
I'll probably post them in the next week to 10 days. We're working on Baby's 98 Sebring-new top, decides to not go up & down when the temp went up, so...yeah...and fall is coming and top is down?
Mine, she has some awesome ideas. A stroker. Should of spoke up when we first got it...hehehehehe. She tried to have a 4 speed happen until I reminded her she wants to drive sometimes. She used to but can't find a system that could for her yet.
So the big question is "where are all those grocery getters pics folks?"
Saw a thread years ago somewhere a guy was doing a burn out leaving the grocery store i a gasser, groceries were stuffed in every opening, it was kinda cute in a way.
Thats a nice ride, and hey, remember a time when you didn't have a MOPAR in the driveway? :poke: OK, don't sell it.....still kickin my butt sometimes...55 Belvedere 330 3 on the tree, 64 Valiant, it had a V8-I was 14, 'cmon, 1968 Sebring mutation 383 4 speed, gTx for a second or two, everyone had one-64 Rambler 199 six, 4 Dusters at once-all drove,...68 Charger...shamed with an Omni I got trading a Horizon for....Dart...never drove a K car ...hang on to it, it sweet

Yes, also known as the dark days. LOL. I actually had a lot of fun years messing with Ford mud trucks. Built a couple smoking small block Ford's. I don't think this Scamp is going anywhere for a while. Got a lotta love in it.

Did that too..
...it all started with....yeah....it was fun but when I realized that all we had for a hot rod was a 1 ton Chevy flatbed 454 4bbl 4 sp dual exhaust and duals on the rear.. dual tanks.....yeah, that was my lowest point in life-a Chevy 1 ton, it was a roofers race truck-and I don't do trucks but......
did settle in to a few Fords along the way, a '68 Torino, oh Falcon, that got itself a solid built 351C, and I was single-high paying job-garage in the hills, and a parts store owned by a retired drag racer from California. Things like titanium valves, do't know that they worked any better than the others, but it was a serious learning experience and picked up at the same time a 72 Torino fastback 351C, factory 4 spd on a split bench-had the thing modified to get a 4 speed in it, guy didn't need to explain why either, and then stuff like a 55 Monterey with a Lincoln 312, and that was one that was what got me that 55 Belvedere, swap it for a set of spun aluminium rims and $25, bought the Belvedere, and put rims on it to boot. 64 Galaxie 500, dropped an early T-Bird 390 in it. So many of the in betweens. At one time I couldn't find anything to try mud racing with, around 1980, wanted a big block MOPAR in a Harvester or "like that"-had found a Keith Black long block and the back half of a harvester, ended up whacking a school bus yellow steel body Bronco, with over the top 302, instead. Really had a blast with it, and it was the first time I was able to understand "3 hour enduro", with crossing the finish line out of fuel, flipped on the top, backwards....they allowed it, don't know about now days though. Might not even still be there, Springfield Oregon. Don't miss those generic's at all, they were spring boards to better days I guess.......

Very Cool moparmandan! Despite what some folks think, them old cars can get groceries in the rain too! ;)
