Procomp Holley type carbs

-
Have run one for years. Can't complain. Actually fixed an off idle hesitation that I couldn't tune out with a quick fuel when I switched to the proform. I would buy one again.

Johnny Mac, Is Proform the same as Procomp? Thanks. Kim
OH my NO!! Good catch and i'm sorry for misreading. I do NOT have a PROCOMP (Speedmaster) I have a Proform! based in MI.

I can't speak to the speedmasters/procomps. Sorry i misread!!! I looked right at it and read "proform"

No problem Johnny. They sure look nice and seem decent. I can get them fairly cheap. Kim

So no one has used a Procomp carb? Kim

Are you sure it's a ProComp carb??? Only carb I've seen from them was a Dominator flange deal. Never took it apart to see how it was tuned. They probably get the parts from the same place ProForm does.

Maybe now they are making other than Dominator carbs. Been a few years since I looked at the one I saw.

I just did a customers 950 billet main body. They need a little help in the metering block, other wise it ok from a rebuid/ test run standpoint. I will say that that particular carb was 3 circuit, and the way they made it 3 circuit was pretty slick. It was all done in the main body using a 2 circuit block. Again, I did not race this carb only test ran on my mule engine.

Interesting. It was a 3 circuit and not a Dominator?? Hmmmm.

Edit: if they did it all in the metering block, they must be having their own blocks made. I can't think of anyone else doing that. Again...hmmmmmm.

3 circuit 950, 4150 flange, 2circuit blocks. The feed tube for the 3rd circuit is higher, because they pull the fuel from the idle well. You simply take a paper punch and punch a hole in the 2 circuit gasket for fuel to get to the feed tube. My 358" is a little mild to get a real good picture of how the timing worked with the tube higher like that. Also, not much venturi in that 950.

I never really looked at them. 1 is a 600vs and the other a 750dp that flows over 800 supposedly. I’ll have a good look next week or the week after. Kim

Now my question would be, where do u get parts from if needed. He does have float bowls but not sure on anything else. He has 2 600 vs and 2 750dp. All brand new that I can get for a decent deal. He is selling out so it’s as is where is, no warranty and no returns. Kim

Dana, these are a Chinese Copy of the Holley, but do u think gaskets and other parts will swap into them? Kim
Kim, I haven't worked on the diecast version as of yet. But , the billet main body version used all holley stuff, all the treads were the same. They did use some funky scews, but the pitch was the same. The bowls were the same. I'm sure there has to be a certain level of cosmetic difference to avoid copyright infringement. Just ask old Barry Grant!

Thanks Dana, I can get these 4 carbs and however many float bowls if I want then for a fairly decent price. I just don’t know what I would do if there is a problem. The more stuff I buy from him the better deal I get. Kim

I didn’t any of the carbs but my buddy did. Both750 dp works pretty dam good. Just thought I would update. Kim[/QUOTE

It’s pretty hard to screw up the basic Holley concept so bad that a little work wouldn’t fix it. Poor machine work is another story.
