Those are all about keeping velocity up.

273 & 318 specific, ports where larger than an Edelbrock SP2P 318 but smaller than the factory 318 ports. Good for heavy vehicles, but they’re no Holley Street Dominator by a long shot. It would have been if it they had used the plenum from the Torker 340. IMHO, if Edelbrock had swept the runners similar to what that looks like for first Gen Torker 340 or TM5, people would probably still be talking about how good of an intake they were instead of saying they’re either a doorstop or smelter feed. But one thing sticks out on that one, it’s fairly uncommon to see one that is not an EGR intake. How much are they asking? It’s a decent low rise intake for a bone stock 318, especially in a 4x4.

It's on facebook market place for $50

probably worth 50 so you can take a die grinder to it and open it up. As Rob said, it was all about low speed velocity. I hear they were good on 273's due to the low volume those motors ran.

It would be good on a stock 360 in a truck for towing. Even with the port mismatch, it would have really good bottom end torque because of the velocity. Anything mild that takes advantage of torque under 4500 would see benefit.

That's a good price. They're not a bad intake for a mild 318 with small port heads. It's what I ran on the 318 in my Challenger for 70k miles. They're not terrible on the bottom end like many single planes because the ports are small. I just found one on the cheap so it's what I used to convert to a 4 barrel, beat the crap out of the factory 2 barrel set up. But the engine was just a stock rebuild by a previous owner so I didn't feel the need to put a better intake on it.
