I'd like to find a new replacement oil pan with stock oil capacity that is made with the same 16-gauge steel thickness as the factory used. It seems that many or most of the aftermarket pans are 1.0 mm or about 2/3 the OEM pan thickness. I know Milodon makes them but $180 for a stock pan is a bit much in my opinion.

don't know the thickness- look @ Summit pans

Unfortunately they don't list the thickness either and considering Summit's brand of parts are usually for cost-conscience buyers, I suspect they're made in China and are not to OEM spec thickness. -EM

I have a Milodon stocker, bought years ago. It seems OK to me. No idea if it's "as" thick as stocker.

My Milodon stocker had a baffle that hit the pickup pretty badly. I wound up hammering the dog snot out of it.
If not for all the complaints about leaking milodon welds, I'd have spent slightly more for a larger pan.
None of the cheap stocker type inspires much confidence. Most seem to arrive tweaked/warped and they're probably thin to boot.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your feedback. Yes, I've definitely thought about a used stock pan as one option. One other question I have is on sump location. I have an OEM pickup pan (rear sump) and an aftermarket center sump (passenger car for an A series engine in the mid-60's). Was there ever a "front sump" and if so, what year/s and model/s?

I have a front sump it came on a 169 D100 318.
I think it may also be used on marine engines.

Interesting. I'm going to see if I can find some measurements on line for that to see if the sump location might work for me. Thank you. - EM

With a quick eyeball look the pan looks identical to a rear sump pan. It was off a 318.

To me it looks (a lot) like a center sump pan (at least what came up in a search for a 1969 Dodge D100 pan for a 318) - EM

My mistake. What I found is for a 383. I would like to see a picture of what you found and maybe a link if possible. Thanks much, -EM

The one I found I have no link, it was on a truck I bought and drove years ago, I put the engine in my first Duster, and had to change the oil pan. I still have the pan and oil pickup.
I know what a regular truck one looks like, because I had a Ramcharger at the time.

So yours is like a rear sump that looks like it was just turned around? Can you take a digital picture?

Yes, I still have the oil pan and pickup, but it is not at my house, it is at my farm 75 mile round trip.
I can take a pic later this week.

I bought a Dorman replacement rear sump pan and it appears to be as thick as an oem. It fit well and doesn't leak. I don't know if Dorman makes centersump pans though.

Thanks for your replies and help guys. It looks like I have a couple of options.

I grabbed that front sump oil pan today.
I will pm you the pics after a dentist appointment later this evening.
