Many outstanding performances in his career. One of my favorite westerns is "Silverado" where he played Cobb the corrupt sheriff.

he had the big Teddy bear look, looked too kind and gentle to play a hardcore bad guy

I just saw him last night in an episode of "Hap and Leonard" I said to my wife "Hey! Brian Denehy is still around and working!"
