We are doing our regular re-evaluation of insurance (homes, vehicles, umbrella) and have received a favorable quote from Farm Bureau (Texas). Does anyone here have experience with them on claims management? TIA.

From what I have heard they suck. Great until you need them.

Isn't that the way ALL insurance companies are??
Nope, I'm with USAA and they've stepped up every time I've needed them. A few years ago I broke two windshields in two weeks. When I called USAA they said don't worry about it that's why we insure you.

id be cautious accepting a quote today
there is a lot of refunding and crap going on do to the corona scam and there is a very good chance your rates next month would be twice as high

I was in claims for Rural Mutual (the WI Farm Bureau Co.) for 15 years. I always was told to try to emulate the work ethic of the Texas FB claims dept. I don't know if that's good or not

Best deal we have found for 3 cars & the house. Never filed a claim however. Knock on wood!

I shop every other year and I either get a good price on the cars but a lousy premium for the house or the reverse. That is despite the membership fee....
Good luck

They will all cancel your *** if you have two claims in any 12 month period.
The best thing going is the Hartford thru AARP if you are 55 years old

Not Geico, at least not with us. They helped put our new metal roof on a few years back. The adjuster actually looked for hail damage. Found some damage that would "pass for some" went back to his office and found where we had had some hail in the area and covered it.

Also, When we hit a deer in Kitty's car recently, the adjuster there wrote right up to 5 bucks before it totaled to help us out. Two weeks after it was fixed, the hood flew up on me. He came back out and wrote a big estimate just to help cover the windshield and hood. It was scratched up here and there but nothing terrible.

Also in 2015 Kitty and I were in a bad accident in Macon that totaled my 04 Ford Ranger. It was nowhere near high retail, but they gave me 300 bucks away from high retail.........two days after the accident. I have no complaints with Geico.

We had 2 act of God weather related claims on our home about 9 months apart. State Farm very promptly handled both claims and then canceled us. They told us that "was standard cancellation policy" for all insurance companies.

I've had Farm Bureau insurance for 40 years, they have always been great, I've had several claims where I've hit deer and storm damage on my home and they always treated me right. I've gotten a few quotes from other companies in the past and no one could beat them for the coverage I have. Only problem I've ever had is like all insurance companies they want to use aftermarket collision parts when fixing your car but I've paid extra a few times to get OEM parts.

All good...
When I owned a farm I had them and they were great. They didn't even have an issue with me running my rollback. My Antique tractor collection was covered and being a Qfarm let my kids start diving legally at age 15 and they were covered ...where the 'non-farmer' kids had to wait until age 17.
A $1 million dollar excess rider only added a couple of hundred per year.

It is. That's standard "for them". Bastards.
