Star Trek Actor a D-Day Hero

OK, but even Snopes is not sure LOL

"However, this meme doesn’t identify the likely source of these gunshots: A nervous Canadian sentry."

The man lead his guys across Juno Beach during D-Day and silenced enemy gunfire.

Does it matter how he got shot?

Nope.

He is a hero for doing what he did regardless of how he got shot.

Balls of steel, each and every man who landed on the beaches that day. For sure, a scene of complete insanity!

Nope.

I said that poorly. What was in my mind was Snopes. They just cannot bring themselves to say things clearly if there's any chance it might indicate something other than "left"

Oh BS. Get over yourself.

They uncovered multiple versions of the same story. Almost everything lined up, except for the source of the shots. But all of the stories came from legitimate sources, so without an analysis on the bullets themselves there will always remain some question at this point. They presented all of the stories, which is what you do if you can’t rule one version out.

Reality is perception, and human perception is not always accurate. This is why eye witness accounts of the same incident are often not identical, this is a well known and well researched fact.

Unfortunately, that’s why uneducated people are often so absolutely sure of their beliefs, while experts tend to leave room for other possibilities. It’s not because the experts don’t know more than the lay person, it’s because they understand that almost nothing is absolute and it would be wrong to say otherwise. But people that don’t know enough to understand that take it to mean the experts don’t know, which is BS.

The man is a god damn hero either way, there’s nothing “left” or “right” about presenting both possibilities if neither can be ruled out. Simple minds want simple answers, reality is more complicated.
