I ordered some Legendary front seat covers for my Barracuda this morning from Dante's. I was figuring a 5 to 6 week lead time. I got an email from them a little earlier and it is going to be 14 weeks until they will ship.
Not a big deal for me as my 54 year old seat covers should last the rest of year. I'll just make it a winter project.

A winter project is ok except the warm weather and sun does help the covers set after they are installed.

I placed a $1000 order with Legendary on 6/1 and haven't heard anything yet.

The best thing you did was order them through Dantes. He'll have your back. Dealing with Legendary by yourself sucks. I never had anything go good from legendary.

I've ordered from legendary in the past and never had a problem. It's just that my order was a little bit of some many different items I figured it would take a while. It was nothing to prevent me from using the cars.

As many different colors, styles, trim levels and brands of cars Legendary produces product for, It would be impossible to warehouse much inventory except for raw materials. They may make a run of similar models or colors to be more efficient. Regardless who you order from, be prepared to wait for your order. Order it early. Order it in the fall or winter if you are planning on installing it in the spring. Take your seats out for a good look see. You may need to locate a spring or control cable. I needed the steel wire from the drivers latch to the passengers side. It took a couple months to find one. I also needed hinge covers. I had heard the repops were junk, I found some NOS ones and then lucked out finding a couple nice used ones in blue. Legendary is worth the wait.

I have a 71 cuda and drivers seat was flat. I thought foam was bad but when I took it apart found spring was broke. No replacement spring available I had to buy a bucket seat to get the spring I needed. The spring is a zee shape.

Every cover is signed by the sewer. When I got my 71 Duster seats they were sewed wrong. Legendaries answer was They fired that guy and they are not repairing his work. I still have the covers on seats.

The next order was orange interior they screwed the chrome up. The corners around the wood was not 45'd and some were short pieces they used up. I contacted Dante and he told me they said that orange interiors were made different. Luckly I had the originals and sent them to Dante. They told me I was wrong but after they found I had original panels they were not getting away with their lie. I sent them back. They said they sent others but they were the same ones with new chrome glued on I marked them. When I sold the car to a member on this site I gave him the interior just to find the chrome fell off and was laying in the unopened bag. They are real scumbags in my eyes. You have to watch them like a hawk they will screw you and not lose any sleep over it. Don't trust them.

Like I said I still have the seat covers on seats I used them in my Duster to race it. I took my car to Carlisle and parked it with an original and theirs with a sign. They made me remove the sign when people told them what they saw. In all my years the only vender that ever screwed me made up a story and lied to my face was legendary. They actually made a story up to Dante. Just to get out of their poor workmanship. That is why Dante wanted to see my original panels. They swore orange panels were made that way.

Can you see what is wrong with these 71 bucket seats . Take a couple guesses I'll grab a picture of the originals in my brown car. Their seats are signed on the inside by the fabricator. I am sure they won't chime in unless they came up with a new story.

I read through a lot of threads before I pulled the trigger on ordering my covers. I saved a little going through Dante's, but their service is really what brought me back to them.

My covers were totally wrong for a 71. Can't anyone see what they did wrong on my pictures above. These covers were also sent back twice first the never put the gross stitching in the gray which was obvious. Then I saw the reversed stitching on the seat back when returned. If I wouldn't have had other cars here with original seats I would have missed it.

So those of you who disagree with my post . You just never dealt with them when the screwed up your cover. Maybe your knowledge of their mistakes never occurred with you. They do make some nice interiors. But buy some covers that are wrong and see how nice they are then. Their friendly attitude changes real quick. Thank god for the middlemen like Dantes. He takes care of his customers . He is truly a good man in our hobby. I am so glad I found him on this site.

Look at the beading on the bucket seat. first picture. The beading on the covers go across the seat instead of going straight to the top. They ran the french seam to the top which was wrong.

The second picture is the correct stitching . like I said legendary screwed me twice. And don't ever buy from them at a show unless you get the salesman's card and a return guarantee if made wrong. If they can screw you they will. Just my experience with them and I will never trust them ever again. Screw me once shames on you . Screw me twice shames on me.

The new covers had more wrinkles then my 100 year old grandma and they had new foam. The wrinkles were sewed in. They blamed it on the employee that made the covers and they won't stand behind his work he was fired. Same story for the door panels. Real assholes to deal with if your a small buyer of product.

Another heads up, I just ordered a bench seat cover for the roadrunner. They were $472 yesterday with the 20% discount. Had everything in my cart but got busy so I didn’t get to finish my check out. Today they were $498. Still got the 20% discount, but procrastination cost me $25

The 20% sale goes on till the 8th.

What is available for '69 Road Runner bucket seat headrests? I chrome ring on mine is now gray, chrome is gone. Legendarys site sucks, so will be going to Dantes for bucket seat covering from reading the discussion here.
