CL 72 Duster

It's sad to think anyone would actually pay that.... Can't argue about the matching numbers game. Got it myself lol....

Yes sir, that’s a winter project into the spring and summer and fall and the next couple of winters!

He was probably sick of his wife saying “you’ve got too many winter projects sitting out in the field. Sell some of them!”

At least now he can tell the wife he’s posted one for sale.

Gets her off his back for a few months.

Doubt he'll get anything close to that price. I tried to sell my '72 Duster project a couple of years ago for $5000 and I didn't get any offers on it. Since I didn't get any offers I just went ahead and put it together myself. It was a rolling chassis with all the missing parts in boxes. Took me a while to sort it all out but now it is running and driving.

You say 5000 ? Sure, I have the cash :poke:

You better have time on your hands, money to burn, and some metal skills.... Without all 3 someone can just stop right there and start looking somewhere else. It's a pile matching numbers or not. A man would be better off just throwing down 35k and be heading to the local car show in a week....

Yep, that was what I was asking. I figured it was more than fair since it had a brand new S60 rear end that cost $2500 plus a brand new Calvert rear suspension with mono-leaf springs and new Centerline wheels. The body was rust free and straight. Never been hit as far as I can tell. All glass was included and the interior was complete but in boxes.

I had one guy who kind of kicked the tires and asked me some dumb questions and that was it. I figured it would sell quickly but no offers. I listed it on CL as well as on Moparts. It was just a factory /6 car with a floor shift 3 speed, but it had been set up for a BB. I still don't know why it didn't sell but I don't care now. It ended up being a good project for me to do.

I can't see the car in the ad selling for anything close to $6000. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for it.
