Machine shop recently told me one of my 273 '65 Barracuda FS heads has several cracks and he doesn't recommend fixing it. Anyone have a good rebuildable (or rebuilt) head to sell? The heads are the same left and right, casting # 2465315. Thanks! Bob in Danville CA

Thanks much for the reply, looking forward to hearing back.
1st head

Thanks for the photos, much appreciated. As you know, its hard to tell if there are crack(s) until they're cleaned and inspected, but I don't see any issues in the pictures. Do you see any date codes on them? Are you willing to sell just one, or want to move both? UPS has a flat rate shipping cost that covers up to 50lbs and that should cover one head. How much do you have to get for one?

Yup no way to tell but I can tell you this they came off a motor that turned over by hand. They appear to look good as you can see. If really like to move them as a pair so I'm not stuck with just one but will separate if need be. Post office does have flat rate shipping boxes but they don't have any these will fit in. I thought I posted a pic of the date code? If I didn't then let me know and I'll get it for you. Ive done some research on them trying to figure a price to ask for them and I see them sell anywhere between 300-450 per head. $300 per head plus shipping.

Your picture did include numbers by the casting number, but if that's the date, I will need to decode it. I'm going to check with my machinist and get back to you after Christmas, again, thanks and Merry Christmas!

I'll pull them back out in the morning and check again. Will post pics of it if I find it. Thanks and Merry Christmas

#2465315 it looks to me. (64-65 273 head)

UPS has a "fair rate" on their website only that takes size, not weight into account. They will ship fairly cheap like that. Must do it online...UPS stores have no idea what that is if you walk in.

Lemme go out to my shed tonight after work. I have a 1965 273 head I pulled off my original dart running engine had 145k on it. I’d sell it for 100$ plus shipping

Demonracer, Thanks for checking the head and offer to sell, but I just accepted another offer. If it falls through I'll get back to you, thanks and Merry Christmas!
