Hi all. Got a 70 Dart I'm getting ready to replace the steering box in. Narrowed it down to Firm Feel and the Borgeson drop in box. What's everyones experiences with these two?

I had an excellent customer service experience with firm feel. The box is my original, rebuilt with a faster ratio and works good

Have you considered Steer and Gear? I had them rebuild my steering gear to a modern feel. Great customer service. I'm happy with it.

Stock power gears box’s are only 16:1 ratio out of the box. There are no quicker internal gears for those.

you can increase the overall ratio by adding a longer pitman arm. Installing a longer arm in an Abody is tough and usually requires custom head pipes or specific headers (TTI shorties and maybe a tri-Y)

Now, the borgeson box is completely different and has a different internal gear ratio to produce a 14:1 ratio out of the box

Who said I had power steering?

Ditto and I have power steering, Stage 3 with a 900 PSI Saginaw pump, steers awesome. Firm Feel is awesome to work with. One of my favorite vendors. Been to their shop, nice and clean, organized and they talk to you like you and your car matter. They want to know about your build genuinely and not just to sell you parts.

At the time I had my box done the Borgenson was more expensive and not a lot of people using it and those who did had some issues. Today, I probably would go Borgensen but I'm happy with the Stage 3.

Borgeson Here on my A and E bodies

I have 2 firm feel manual boxes. A 20-1 in my 72 and a 16-1 sitting for when I pull the motor again. I like the 20-1 box feel in the car vs the 24-1 that’s stock. Don’t know how the 16-1 is in my car yet. Some of this choice was I also did a full suspension kit and was cheaper to have them do the box. Also I live about 10 minutes from them, before they were total sticklers about only shipping. My buddies, @lead69 and loud-mouth I believe have PST boxes in there darts and like them. So so looking at price of FF build with the quick ratio ($550) think it is now vs. PST ($250) is something to consider..

@PST gets my vote. killer price and i was very happy with my 16:1 box. Great service also.

As Scody21 said above I am very satisfied with my pst 16:1 box if in fact a manual gearbox is what you want. I'm not sure if you are looking for power or manual lol.
