Dome light wont turn off

-
The dome/ courtesy lamps are all fed with hot 12volts, an insulated dual contact socket, and to turn them on the yellow wire coming off the second contact is grounded. Check your door switches, and the headlight switch. "are you aware" that when you twist the headlight switch far to the left, it activates the courtesy lamps?

If you have a (optional) map light switch there might be something going on there

I added FIVE extra lights to my interior light circuit. Two courtesy lights under the dash, two on the inside sail panels and one in the trunk. I experienced what you describe a while back and found the bulb on the right hand courtesy light had popped half way out of the bracket and was grounding on the bracket causing all the lights on that circuit burn. I put the bulb back in. lol

this may be the problem the head light switch is having issues and none of my gauge cluster lights will turn on.

Sometimes the plug that goes on the switch overheats and melts . I've had this happen on 2 Darts in my lifetime. Replaced switch and plug housing. A lot of power goes through the switch and causes heat. Do the headlight relay kit after you repair your switch and plug housing.
Your housing may look like this.

Yup, which is why it's a fantastic idea to upgrade to Rob (@crackedback) headlight wiring harness with relays. It takes all the heavy load off the headlight switch for which it was never intended to carry and the relays control it. The headlight switch is turned into a low amperage trigger. Best thing I ever did to Vixen and Gladys.
