Turn Signal Will Not Cancel In One Direction

Looks to me like the problem is with the stud on the steering wheel not making contact with the switch tangs. Im looking at the picture and I don't see any rub marks on the bottom tang but I do see them on the top one. I don't know if its the pic but it looks like the end of the stud on the wheel is torn up pretty good. Do you have another wheel you can try?

I was thinkin the same. Also, it appears the cancelling ring is pushed towards the wheel a little far. Maybe try prying it out a little bit?

No, don't have another wheel, but did find a solution. As a side note, looking for a nice OE replacement wheel & horn button. Anyway, on a whim, put a plastic sleeve over the wheel stud with some dielectric grease to make it slightly fatter. That fixed it. Go figure!

Where there's a will there's a way!

Glad you found a fix !
BTW, Keep your old switch. probably still good. The original parts are way better quality and with a bit of cleaning and some lubrication, will outlast the new part you just put in!

If you want to try a new NOS cancelling cam.. RC has one for sale for 25 bucks..

FOR SALE - NOS Steering wheel canceling cam
Thanks. Funny how that is called a "cam" on the package but it is actually the ring. Some day I will get a replacement steering wheel that hopefully has a nice ring on it. By the way, were there different steering wheels available with the 70' 340 duster? I am not sure what the proper wheel is. Did it have a horn ring, grant tuff wheel style, etc. Have not been able to find definitive information on what the "proper" wheel is.
