Found the one...it is in one piece...will look for the other .....and see if I can find it....

just dumped 5 gallons of gas in it....almost time,,,,but gotta take my lunch break....shop rules

delayed a day due to a leaking carb.....broke my golden rule never buy a used carb unless you see it running on an engine....rear bowl has bad leak....luckily I have a spare rear bowl for an holley 1850.....

it does crank over....

Thanks just let me know and I appreciate the added effort.

I have set it aside and got a USPS small box for it....i am try looking for the other it was cracked but it was a clean break and might be able to glue it back together...

PM me your address

replaced the bowl...and then the fuel transfer tube sprayed gas all over.....i hate those holleys with the fuel transfer tubes.....

One more try...i think i have a set of bowls to make it a dual feed.....that is the last try....

While waiting for carb to show up...i got a oil dipstick and tube to fit......

Did you find that longer one you needed?

Actually...the new tube i used was shorter then the old bent one....so I shorted the dip stick to make it work....

Summit finally ships my carb.....friday deliver....I hate went the parts dont come out of sparks nv....

Finally got my FST 650 carburetor....pretty impressive carb...electric choke same price as manual...dual feed...adjustable air bleed for vacuum secondary...

With summit discount 290 dollars...

Should be running tomorrow...need to make up some new fuel lines ....looks like i have the fittings....

Need to make a big push the next couple of days to get this thing where is can hit the road if needed....
I
Work called today and they want me back....crap.....

Took the new carb and put it on the 73 Duster.....FST is a very nice carb...fired right up....electric chock working...small adjustment on the idle mixture...actually leaned it out a bit...

Got the drive shaft out this morning...i had a couple of u joints on the shelf....and I found one of the conversion u joints...bingo...dont have to wait for ups gut.....got the drive shaft done ......
Next i had to get the exhaust back on the truck...years ago i used a Hooker dual exhaust kit to put dual exhaust on it..sure sound alot nicer with mufflers ...
and lastly the new carb went on the 73 Duster....nothing wrong with the carb...just the dual feed put the fuel inlet and the AC compressor almost in the same spot ...
so then the front needle and seat sticks and floods it...lol....ok done for the day

I will clean or replace the needle and seat in morning.

I had the truck rear up on jacks...and the weeks turns....lol...

Ok...drove it around the block......made it back under its own power....got a few issues...

holley 1850 carb sucks
header gasket leak on passenger side.
trans kick down linkage needs adjustment
Alternator is over charging....
need to get rid of clutch pedal

rebuilt a eddy 1406 running great..
linkage adjusted can feel trans shift
replaced regulator ..charging ok...

the other two items are going to have to wait until I get back later this summer...

Drove it around the block and put some more gas in it....shifts good...runs right at 180 degrees...
It will get a nice cleaning ...new stereo...

Had to replace alternator.....everything is working good now...

I am back home from working out of town due to medical reasons....

Have the old truck loaded to go to the dumps a few weeks ago....truck died on me.....guess what god dam ballast resistor....lol,,,,Daughter and I towed it home with the 2016 Dodge 2500 Diesel...lol

Since I have been busy getting the Engine test stand up and running, truck has been sitting full of crap for the dumps.....
Decided a week ago to dump the ballast resistor and mopar ecu and do the GM hei swap out...got the bracket...got a GM module...mounted bracket...mounted module.....little bit of rewiring...bingo
Fired right up this working..It actually sounds better then the mopar ecu...
Heading for the dumps on tuesday....monday morning the line is kind of long...

Well...Tuesday is got closer to the dump but the fuel pump is wired there a relay with a circuit breaker.....and the circuit breaker died...LOL...My daughter towed me home again....
Got rid of the circuit breaker and wired in a 30 amp fuse plus I have spare fuses.....the HEI module is hell of a lot better then the old mopar ECU......

Was the HEI module hard to do? What kit did you use?

so simple even a dentist could do it....

Google Mopar Hei wiring...plus there are several youtube videos.....the module is a GM 4 pin....bought it for 10 bucks off ebay with free shipping....or can be bought a any part store..

Mopar HEI Conversion

this is the bracket i used to mount it on the mopar distributor or make your own mount
