AND ANOTHER annoying story from the old days
Sometime around this time right here of the year in 1970 was when I showed up at NAS Miramar. The guy who would later sell me his 70 440-6RR and who I'd met at Treasure Island in Navy electronics school, was now stationed on a ship in port (refit?) at Long Beach. I was supposed to meet him for some outing, and had driven from San Diego to Long Beach, and was upstairs in his barracks, waiting for him to finish dressing. I looked down aimlessly at the parking lot and here is a dark faded Citroen, "lying there". I muttered something under my breath, and laughed and he wanted to know "what." So I went into this big nonsense of how damned ugly the things were "looks like a slug laying in the pavement."
Sorta like this one, only faded, from above LOL
Turns out my friend's roomate was the owner!!!
