AL & Theresa's Excellent Mopar Road Trip Adventures

-
Well Steve, got the next big road trip in 2 days. So we are loading up for that . About a 6 week trip. That will give us time to think about the Dart project . We really bought it to flip. But it's a nice start on it. I just don't know if I really want to take this one on and finish it up.

That thing has had some nice work done to it! No hurry, but when you're crawling around under the back of it, would you shoot me some pics of how they mounted that gas tank? That tank looks almost identical to the one I had made for my 70 Duster, and I still haven't decided how I want to mount it. It's a 25 gallon tank, so it will need some pretty hefty support! LOL.

The guy had it custom made. He cut the floor out and dropped it in from the top. It has a flange on the top to attach it to the top side of the floor. All flat except for the fill tube sticking up out of the tank. Trunk is full of parts now. I'll send you a pick when I get it all cleaned out.

Well the time has come ! WE leave for the S/W roadtrip in the morning. Truck is loaded up with Mopar parts ! Trailer is loaded with the Bike and camping gear and stuff. First stop is just a couple hours north , to deliver some 3rd members to Roy up in the Tampa area. Theresa says she's going to up date this thread with some post from our last trip up to Chattanooga and back. Wasn't to much to post with the exception That @RustyRatRod took me for a ride in Vixon ! I was actually impressed at how well it runs ! Thanks Rob. Maybe this trip will have more adventurous things to post up. With stops in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado should be some To Be Continued !

Alrighty all, this is T, and Al has asked me to post some pics from last week's trip through GA and up in Chattanooga. We're on the road this morning getting ready to meet up with Roy. Then heading to the west towards TX for the first phase of this road trip. Looking forward to meeting up with some of you along the way!

Safe travels & have fun

T here- First order of business today, besides getting out of bed at 4am (ughhhh) to start this road trip, was meeting up with Roy "sgbarracuda" and his super nice wife just north of Tampa. Back on the road, passing Don Garlits museum in Ocala, FL, which is definitely worth seeing if you ever get the chance. Today's final destination will be Hattiesburg, MS for another parts delivery. Texas tomorrow!

I second that suggestion on visiting the Garlits museum, amazing collection of great cars and memorabilia. Stopped there in 2005 on the Hot Rod Power Tour.
