Bought another car some weeks ago & it has engine & trans from a van, long dipsticks & such, it has a 2 barrel carb on iron manifold but used to have injection, that means it's a roller cam engine, right? I've been under & saw by the relief number that it's a 318 but how &/or where do I see the year?

How to ID a Small Block Engine Block:

Casting date is cast into the side of the block like the part number and displacement. There is also a vin pad on the passenger side pan rail and another identification pad on the drivers side front of the block just below the cylinder head deck. Basically look below just below the head on the block.

Since Moparbaker's info says he in Sweden, I would ask if this car is left hand drive or right hand drive?
When dano said there is an ID pad on driver's side of the block, he is referring to front of the engine at cylinder number one, which is left hand side of engine. Hope this is not causing confusion, just hoping to avoid confusion.

A few good photos will tell the story. How about posting some?
