I saw it last night on "some other venue" and could NOT figure out how to link the darn thing

Amazing how long the rear tires were off the track, and he was still able to save it. Some divine intervention and driver skill for sure. One of the most epic saves I've ever seen.

Watching that I'm goin' with 75% luck, 25% drivin', & 100% better than the alternative!!! Not quite Sullivan's "Spin & Win", but nice! I give Sullivan the inverse luck to drivin' ratio on that one.

I wonder if they called it that he crossed the center line or not. Tires might have been in the air at the time!

And he probably still did the 1/4 faster than most of us...even if half of it was sideways and backwards.

I disagree with the "great save"-at that speed he is just the meatsack along for the ride and holding on for dear life.

Not so much the speed as the airborne , & He didn't do anything wrong to make it worse, which is worth about the same points.....

he locked up the wheels so naturally the car is gonna keep going in the same direction without less friction of a rotating tire. I think he pulled it off nicely keeping them locked like that. I know Ill never be in that position.....(going 160...)

A “ Depends “ day for sure !! 95% just along for the ride at that point .

I was in that position once , but at 130 , drive shaft came out on the big end , cut the right rear 14'' slick , was all over the place untill , I thot GOD I`m going over ,
stomped the brakes and locked everything up , the car straightened out unbelievably fast . Wasnt me !!

Can't remember who it was, Caroll Shelby, maybe
Mighta been big daddy garlins too

But the quote amounted to "brakes don't do nothing once you get airborne"

Ah, what The hell does he know ? C MON DONT TAKE THAT SERIOUS !----LOL

I think AJ Foyt(?) endorsed a shock mfr with the tag line " You can't take a turn with Your tires/wheels off the ground".

I know a guy that windowed his block just before the finish line doing 110+
at BIR in MN this year . Spun 3 times and crossed the line backwards without touching a wall .
He said he just froze and crapped his pants... lol
Pure luck !
