Fun episode. They screwed themselves with the torque converter swap out and the balky column shifter, but 10.34 on a little 150 shot was fun to see.

My 67 Barracuda's column shifter was occasionally balky and would sometimes self shift from low to second - until I realized the problem was 904 linkage with a 727 trans. Got the 727 linkage pieces and that ended that problem.

I must have missed some episodes somewhere. What is the current engine and build configuration? I thought they had a 440, then swapped it for a 383; but no ideas what they did build wise, to the engine. I saw the episode where it looked like they finished it, then did burnouts all the way down the road. Does anyone know the current engine details?

Aw ****! That's my problem.
:BangHead::BangHead:

I wonder if you could make a racheting system on a column shift. Maybe something that goes on the column near the firewall.

The levers on the trans itself? Still have the 904 levers?

casing....

Is this stuff viewable somewhere or is it on some double-secret pay-through-the-nose channel?

I paid $36 for a year for Motor Trend Channel, all access to everything they have. One of the better deals out there. I'm not sure if they have any deals going on now.

I showed some Roadkill to Heidi. She bought motor trend the next day. After the Barracuda, we start on her 69 Mach 1. It will be the biggest challenge as far as a car being apart that I have done.

Two issues were the auto trans equivalent of a Z bar, and the bracket on the case that it hooks into. Those two things were different 904 to 727. Can't remember about the rest, as it's been a few years.

Yup! Regular guys like us hackin away with what ever they got.

And they drove it to and from the track, not too shabby. Btw, just out of curiosity, I looked up David Freiburger's age since I was figuring we were about the same age. Dude is 75 years old!

It's the 383 block that was in DF's Superbee when he first got it. He said he has owned that block for 30 years or something. Stroked to 440 with the same same Edelbrock heads and cam that were on the original motor when they first BB'ed it.

Not sure where you got that but pretty sure he isn't 75. Maybe 55, but not 75.

What ! 75 ? Wow ... I guess I was reading his article in my 20s so that makes sense.

These guys are the only ones I like to watch on MT. The rest make me crazy ! Too much fakery and or drama !

Same thought Greg, same thought! When I found out what you discovered, I was shocked.

Greg and I thought the same thing but in actuality, he is 75+. I was shocked! He looks very good for his age.

Some of the other shows, yes, retarded.
I love there RK shorts. Other specials, documentaries and history lessons. I like a few other shows. Faster with Finnegan is funny. Hot Rod garage is OK. I think that needs a little work. I don’t like to guys garage. The original is much much better. The current two guys are way too happy and jolly like they’re on some type of drug.

How Old is David Freiburger?
Freiburger's birthday is on 21 August, but his exact age remains undisclosed. He went to John Marshall High School for his high school education. After graduating from high school, he began working as a spare parts salesman at a Dodge dealership and also later gained experienced in the automobile industry.

To keep his automobile enthusiasm going, Freiburger attended California State University Automobile Production and Technology in 1985.

No way he is 75. I'm 71 and attended college 1968-72.
