So here's the deal, I'm at the point where I should buy another vehicle I'm getting close to retiring and my income is going to drop. My 204 Durango has been awesome I mean a great truck 4.7 SLT it's getting close to 120,000 miles still runs great and very clean but I feel it's time to make a move. I'm kind of thinking about a very nice Dodge Challenger but I feel like I may lose some passion for the 340 swinger if I go modern muscle I've always been a faithful kind of guy and it just feels weird.

It's not cheating if they don't know, don't drive them both on the same day, keep'um separated and take a shower after driving one of them.

2 totally different animals! I've been through the same process. I think when you look at the number of challengers on the road people appreciate the uniqueness of our old cars. On the other hand its nice to hop in and drive. If you can keep them all. BTW I like to tinker. Have you looked under the hood?

Yeah I also like to tinker for the love of God I have three carburetors on my car LOL I kind of feel this way there can be three nice challengers at the gas station when I pull up and all eyes are on the old 340 swinger I feel like our old cars are like MX bikes or flat trackers no frills just a lot of fun to drive.

Oh yeah my son has an SRT and my daughter has a scat pack. I'm looking at the T/As

you may find driving the new Challenger boring. I drive my (sons now) SC400 and its just so predictable in a boring manner. Mash the gas and you go (quickly!), no wheelspin no under or oversteer, no gears to row.. hit the brakes as hard as you want: no skid , no seconds of terror. It always starts, never gets past the middle on the stat. Everything you like to monitor on car never moves. My take.

Whats not to like? Hope it works out for you.

I can't get into modern muscle cars. I've had one modern performance car, but not a muscle car (2004 BMW 330Ci convertible). The BMW did EVERYTHING better than my old convertibles, but you know which one I gave up to buy a more modern fuel efficient sedan that also does NEARLY everything better than the old cars. BUT, if my Barracuda was road worthy and done I would really rather have it here on vacation even at the expense of much more fuel (maybe 15mpg vs. 45mpg on the highway).

My son's 65 B'cuda with the 408 and manual reverse valve body is a blast to drive. But so is his '16 6spdHellcat Challenger. One does not get jealous of the other, and he and/or I can get our frills in ealither one depending g on th mood of the pending drive/trip.

What makes you think it's a "her", buy a boy car, the two would get along great in the garage.....I'll show you my dip stick you show me your snorkel. lol

CHEATER!!!! If it looks like, smells like. And most importantly feels like? It is CHEATING! And just because it's with your kind? But younger Mopar? Filth!! Remember the good book. "Thou shall not cheat on thy Mopar!" (Or something like that? I could probably use a little "churching" up?)

Adding another classic mistress to your stable is not cheating. It's expanding the love. But a young tuner? Adds nothing but decent. So says the lord. (I pretty sure?)

See what happens? Once you let the serpent into the garden? Pretty soon we have A-bodies running around with Chebby 350s to save a couple hundred dollars? Then comes the locust.

My cousin has three Challengers. A 1970 RT-SE 440 restored to the nines. Then he got a SRT when they came out. A couple years ago he got a Hellcat. They all get along fine, like LDS sister-wives. His real wife is hinting he should unload one, but she never has less than three Land Cruisers, so...

Must be nice, but my theory is, if ya don't have anything nice ya don't have to worry about someone stealing it. That theory has so far proved to be true for me.

friend had a new 40th anniversary Mustang back when and I sat in it and I could barely see over the steering wheel. I felt so disconnected from the road. I dont think I could even rest my arm on the lowered window sill cruise style. Not a fan of the gunslit windows of the new musclecars. I like to be high up on the seat, not sunk into it. Meh, Ill keep my old car. I got a truck to haul the groceries.

I have both, I like all of them.
Bought a Shaker/Scat pac last month, fun car.
Still have my Duster, 70 Challenger, and a 70 Cuda. They get along just fine.

Nope that's not cheating, The only thing I'd buy that's newer & that's only if I won several million dollars would be the last year (2017?) Viper ACR, with all the fixins.
Added pro charger.
If I can't get that I'm just fine with my super turdish 70 dart.

I get the whole viper thing it wouldn't even have to be arc a nice second generation would be awesome but that's 50,000 and I'm not going there. I just want a nice strong classy everyday driver with a little soul oh yeah and it has to be a Mopar.

Oh yeah I agree. Shoot a challenger definitely will fit the bill
