318 4 bbl and intake upgrade

haven't others already quoted van and truck 318's with a 4 barrel. you said readily available which they were, you can't have it both ways
Thank you mygasser for stating that My Ramcharger was a real 318-4 from the factory and as I had stated it was listed on the factory build sheets under the hood On IH trucks it was called a "Line ticket"
Mr know-it-all had better do some more research.......

just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. every day's a school day or you may as well stay in bed, lol.

It's a 318 mopar, that share many parts with the LA. Can you put the 302 Ford crank into a 302 chivy?

can you put a 318 poly crank in a 318la? i was under the impression that no parts interchanged two completely different motors with cubes being only thing in common

I have an 1979 chrysler Valiant Regal SE with 318. I rebuilt the engine but as I had a lot of left over parts from my 410 charger I used a lot of those parts. Has KB pistons roughly 9.5 compression, summitt small cam, edelbrock alloy heads with 2.05 valves, wiehand action plus manifold with 650 AVS 2 carb, headers and dual 2 inch exhaust. it has stock torque converter and 2.92 diff so will not wheelspin of the mark but after it gets going a bit it hauls pretty good. Car weighs about 3600 lbs . Bear in mind this is only a cruiser for me as I have a 410 Valiant charger that weighs 3000 lbs and does low elevens and I just used some of the left over parts in the build that wer left from the development on the charger. The car needs a higher stall converter as it drops about 250 rpm when I put it in gear but other wise performs pretty well.

Though I haven't done it, the cranks interchange. Actually, most of the parts interchange. The Poly has a forged crank and thicker cylinder walls (according to those that have checked them). It is said that the early 273's got Poly cranks, rods, timing covers, pulleys.

Thank you for acknowledging that I know something. If you all have read closely to what I said was the 318 wasn't offered with a 4 barrel carburetor in CARS until the late '70's.

Post some brochures advertising a dart, duster or any other mopar with a 318 and a factory 4 barrel that was manufactured before 1976.

The cranks up to & including 1961 used the cast iron T/Flite & the flange was different to 62-66 318 Poly's.

could you not just accept that you don't know everything instead of keep narrowing the parameters to make you right, lol. obviously in canada CARS with a 318 could have come with a 4 barrel and neither of us knew that so as i said every day's a school day .

Hey everybody, sorry about my rotten attitude, I mentioned awhile back that my brother had cancer, he died a couple of days ago. And I'm a mess, I didn't mean to be rude

Hang in there, friend. Hope everything works out for you.

In todays environment and gas prices the only logical sense is dual quads. Let them eat!!!!
