I’m not sure but it’s an expensive car....seen rotten ones listed for sale for good money on FB before....verts are always worth more and desirable too

A good price for one guy is obscene to another... so the question becomes what is a good price for YOU? Sorry that's not much help, but you are the one that needs to be comfortable with the purchase. If it's not enough for him, move on; and console yourself by thinking fondly of all the money you saved not having to source a million E body parts $$.

I asked a friend who buys a lot of e-body cars and I sent him the 1 picture....he said around $20k for a real solid roller. He said he thinks he seen that hoard posted on FB a few weeks ago.
Also depends on what other parts it comes with, and what you are willing to stick into it, it will add up real fast.

I think I am going to make an offer on the car thia week. Just got off the phone with him, he is going to get everything put together that will go with it.
Its a 71 318 car no motor or transmission although he has a bunch of those. It will have fenders, flat hood (ralley hood would cost extra), front seats, steering column, console, dash, grill. All the vert specific parts except rear seat and rear convertible specific door panels.

If you can get with a title for 20K or under, that will be a decent price in todays market. I have a 71 Challenger conv that was a factory 318 car, but I fixed it my way and have been very happy with it. Hopefully, it has the convertible top frame and motor if it's a power top. You could add a rallye dash and not have to switch wiring harness if the existing harness is good....just add a tach wire and a hot wire to the clock. Rear seat frames may be a challenge (no pun intended) to find at a fair price. They are fun cars, and I feel very fortunate to have been the caretaker of mine for the last 30 years. Good luck to you on the bid! Here's a link to rear conv panels. All door panels are the same, hardtop or conv, but the doors themselves are conv specific with the extra latching wedges...so check to see.

I don't see anyone saying how many years of man hours it will take to put that Challenger back together.
It is worth what someone will pay. To me the car is a basket case, and requires too much time money and man hours to make something of it again.
On a lighter note I have already owned a low mile '73 Barracuda 340 back in the day, 1976.
Was fortunate to have experienced what the e bodies are all about. So I have already had my e body fix. Nicest handling car I have owned.
Buy it to resell so somebody with deep pockets can fix it, now that's a possibility.

Now that cuda is just perfect. The more I see the cuda's the more I think they are the perfect e body.

I had a yellow 70 cuda years ago, personally I think the E bodies are overrated. I mean they are nice, and they drive nice, but a pony car they were not. But then again everything else that was supposed to be a pony car in 1970 grew in size and weight.

Just a heads up, buying these cars a person wants to be well aware of the world affairs, inflation, and the political corruption at work in our government now.
Unstable economic times, the bottom could drop out of these fixer upper cars at any moment. Don't want to be paying top premium dollars for these cars right now. Need to figure in your values if things turn South.
Sellers are aware of the economic shortfalls and are looking to get out yet while they can with their shirt on. So that is another bargaining chip for the buyers.
It's just like the game of Musical Chairs, you want to have a place to sit down when the music stops. Don't want to be the one standing there holding the bag on the over valued merchandise when it goes out of fashion.

Hey, @DentalDart , whatever happened to your move? If I remember right, a year or so ago you were planning to move to Missouri weren't you?
Im living in Republic, Missouri. We are currently going through the motions of securing a loan to purchase a dental office in West Plains Missouri... it wasnt our first choice of areas to buy a practice, but financially we would be pretty stupid to pass up an opportunity to make 2-3x what I make now at 0% financing for the practice loan...

This is good advice, that hopefully everyone is listening to. Feds raising by 1/2 a point this coming up month... forcasts show it could be another 1/2 to to .75 in July...
I like to think I am frugal... my wife calls me a cheap ***... I don't want these as investments, honestly 99% of the time putting money into these cars or any other car is a vwry bad investmenr and we will never get out what we put in. I always think that what ever old cars I get I will keep for a long time. If time ever comes to sell them, which I hope is never, I know I will lose my ***. hopefully who ever is the lucky one to buy them will enjoy them as much as I did.

If any of the convertible stainless trim is missing on the car then it will cost a very shiny penny for those parts. Difficult to find. And gone FAST when available.
I've only seen the one picture. The guy won't release more pictures or info to me until "someone" makes a play at the car. I told him to let it go to the local first and me second if that be the case.
I say 18k cause I'm a cheap *** and 18 would be worth it. Possibly as much as 28 if someone just has to have a convertible. Honestly with the fender tag gone and no build sheet, NOM, no window sticker, no provenance on the car I would definitely be more in the lower range for the car.
The additional parts that come with the car might make some difference on price also.
This car will cost no less than 30K to put back on the road in shiny newish condition.
To restore the car properly, 60K. So, 80K when the car is done to restoration standards but the car will only be worth around 65K, maybe 70K to the right person.
If you were to take it to the promod level of build, you might be able to squeeze 120K out of the car. After putting 120K into the car. I have no experience in this type of stuff. I do watch the market though.

Cuda convertibles are nearly impossible to find... I only took 1 picture of the car while I was there. He told me to take the picture and send it to the wife as a joke about that being what I bought.
It definitely needs work. I'll probably go back uo there in the next couple weeks to look at it again and take more pictures. He said if I wanted to come up and find and put everything that goes to the car I coukd do that as well. I have no clue what would go to the car though. I didnt realize trim was that hard to find.
If I get it I will be on the low end of cost for it being a clean fun driver. Would try to do all the work myself, hell could get a paint job at the local maco for like 3k and it would look pretty dang good. This is my neighbors mustang he paid 3k to have done at maco.
