Are those 10 x 1 3/4 “ drum brakes?

I need to order new shoes and rebuild hardware but I do not know what size to order or year to use for reference with the computer parts nerds.

First and foremost

Body
Year
What rear end
Is the rear stock to the car
Any modifications

Looks like 1 3/4 shoes
They were on at least 67 thru 70 something Dart, Barracuda, Valiant

What is the ID of the drum, if 10" than the shoes are 10 X 1-3/4" most likely

The drum looks like an oe "bell" drum but the bulge on the front looks odd, BUT I have never seen one in person, so maybe that is normal.

The drums look to have been drilled to accept 5x4.5 lug pattern and the axles appear to be aftermarket.

The drums wear surface is typically wider than the shoes, but that looks like more than I would expect. The pattern seems to be in the middle of your measurement which looks to be 2 1/4 ish.

Is there any sign of the drum rubbing the backing plate? Or the drum being turned down where it might have contacted the backing plate?

Other will chime in with additional observations and knowledge.

this is an 8.75 that I bought a few years ago, supposedly out off a 68 dart. It has moser 4.5 axles and the drums were drilled to accept the 4.5” bolt pattern.

I intend to install some discs at some point in the near future but I need to replace the shoes and hardware, until I do.

Yes, it looks like the axles and bolt pattern were changed, and the original 10 X 1 3/4" brakes were kept. Judging by the wear pattern, that setup should work fine....for typical street use anyway. All those factory belled drums I've seen have a 10.090 wear limit, so, as long as they aren't over that, I'd reuse them. The friction surface looks even and smooth, so, unless you had some pedal pulsation, I wouldn't even turn them. Those '70-2 belled drums are not available new as far as I know.

Check if 72 swinger had 10x1-3/4 brakes on the rear. Rock auto will be a good place to start.

If not, then go with 68 dart.

IMHO as long as al the hardware is for the same car you should be good to go.

I have 5 on 4.5 I wonder if a 73 and up had them

Always measure the shoe width, not the drum. Measuring the drum causes nothing but confusion.
