I need to order new shoes and rebuild hardware but I do not know what size to order or year to use for reference with the computer parts nerds.
First and foremost
Body
Year
What rear end
Is the rear stock to the car
Any modifications
Looks like 1 3/4 shoes
They were on at least 67 thru 70 something Dart, Barracuda, Valiant
What is the ID of the drum, if 10" than the shoes are 10 X 1-3/4" most likely
The drum looks like an oe "bell" drum but the bulge on the front looks odd, BUT I have never seen one in person, so maybe that is normal.
The drums look to have been drilled to accept 5x4.5 lug pattern and the axles appear to be aftermarket.
The drums wear surface is typically wider than the shoes, but that looks like more than I would expect. The pattern seems to be in the middle of your measurement which looks to be 2 1/4 ish.
Is there any sign of the drum rubbing the backing plate? Or the drum being turned down where it might have contacted the backing plate?
Other will chime in with additional observations and knowledge.
Check if 72 swinger had 10x1-3/4 brakes on the rear. Rock auto will be a good place to start.
If not, then go with 68 dart.
IMHO as long as al the hardware is for the same car you should be good to go.
Nope, '72 ended the 10 X 1/2" brakes. In '73, they went to the 10 X 2 1/2".I have 5 on 4.5 I wonder if a 73 and up had them
