I joined this site hoping to learn more as I love all types of cars and trucks. I took this car as trade for another and while it seems to be in better than most condition, I was wanting to ask for honest opinions of what it should be worth (ballpark) of course and without you actually looking at or driving the car. I posted on several sites and some of you may have seen it. I had more than a dozen messages saying it was worth no more than 5K. The car runs, drives, stops as it should. Sorry, 318 w/904 all appears to be stock. Factory air, all glass good. Runs really good. Tires are brand new like, I just put them on last week. Drum brakes all around.

We will need a lot more info to give you a guesstimate. For starters, what engine (and what has been done to it), what trans, what rear end and gears, what brakes, and how it the interior and overall rust situation? L-O-T-S of photos will help a bunch.

The pics I posted of the bottom side of the car all looks the same. I didn't want to fill the page with the same thing.

if i was in the market for an "a" body, which i am when i get my stuff sold. after looking at the JUNK ON FB, that is rusted beyond hell, no title, no eng, no trans, etc, etc. i would say, if your car drives out good, does not need 1/4's, trunk panel, floor pans, it could be worth 5500-8500 to the right person. JMHO. but to each their own. opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one but in the end they all smell.

what it is worth to you may not be the same for another. saying that, up here it would probably be at least 10K as prices go. Good luck with your sale and hope you get a price that is good for you and good for the buyer.

It's really going to come down to 2 things IMO.... Well, maybe 3. Let's get the easy one out of the way and that's location. There was a time when people would spend money to haul a car states over but if you have filled up recently at the pumps then it will make sense that has all changed...

If someone is bound and determined to own a from the factory muscle car version anything these days they are looking for some type of pedigree. Again, it will come down to who wants what. One mans junk is another mans treasure.

But lastly and IMO the most important part here is the body. That's where the money's at. If the car has good metal all the way around it's worth more than 5k. If it's a bondo special then I can only say get ready for a longer wait to sell. Who knows what is under that shiny paint but if you can't really go over the car good with a magnet then that will help you with an honest value... Nice looking car BTW....

Well lookin at all you posted, what a "smart" buyer will try to beat you up on is worn out suspension. It has shackles in the back to try and lift it some. Clearly, if they were removed, it would sag badly in the rear. But IMO, suspension stuff is easy. It's not like a rusted out body. If the bottom all looks the same as you say, that's a really solid car. So it really boils down to location and how bad somebody wants it. I don't think 7500-10K is out of the ballpark if the paint and body work is "good".

Spot on Rusty, price is my opinion as well. And the suspension could be corrected easily, much rather do suspension then body and transmission problems.. I would fix suspension, drive it then see if it needs to be sold or hung on to for awhile

IMO, every bodies est. price is inflated because you have a huge lack of pictures though the select few of the non rusted underneath looks great, the overall car shots look very good, there’s a lot of other places I’d look for rust! Or Bondo filler!

One blurry as heck interior shot, no engine bay shots. Come on man! This is like a cheap *** joke. Seriously!!!!

If you want an honest opinion, start by being honest!
Clear honest pictures!

So far I note aftermarket headlights and worn out rear springs.

I think you can show off this cars true potential with MUCH better pictures. Come on! Make me droooool for this car.

The bottom pictures, at least in the area pictured looks solid.

Not trying to hide anything.

One of the members said it looked like I was trying to hide something by lack of pictures. I wasn't trying to hide anything i just wasn't sure of how many pictures to post. I would gladly take a picture of anything anyone wanted to see. Here are a few more that I took of the car on Friday when I put the new tires on it. I have taken a magnet down the sides and around the fender wells and it stuck as I thought it should have. The first three pics are of the bottom of the car right under the door. The entire bottom of the car is really rust free as the pics show. BTW, I've doon nothing to the car since I've got it except put on new tires. Everything else is the way I got it.

You might be thinking of me and your reply was pictures.
WELL DONE!
This is what people need to see in order to make a fair assessment. Not a few 20 footers and blurry shot.
I’m glad your willing to state out loud to all you’ll take what ever pictures your asked to take. That’s openness that goes really far. It shows your not afraid and willing to put up and not shut up.
BRAVO, well done again.

Know I’m not trashing you but the reply I left is how a lot of people will see things. Negitive mind set abound greatly!

Some of those pictures are a bit to close and I don’t know what your showing us. I like the new parts on the car which shows your keeping up on it. That’s good to see.

Also realize that there he price one is willing to pay will be different on where they live. Ratbastard gage what I think is insanely high price but that could easily be on target for his north western area. A bit farther south near me in Florida and possibly the southern mid west, that would be to much.

Here’s the best part, PT Barnum said there’s a sucker born every minute. You just need the right pigeon with cash burning up his pocket. There out there! The question is, what would make your wallet happy when you sell it and how long are you willing to wait for top dollar?

To you, I wish you the best result possible from this endeavor. What ever road you take. (price wise)

It's worth whatever you're willing to pay.
Looks like a very nice car to work with.
I paid 35 bucks for my 67 Fastback body in 1977. no drivetrain and broken 7 1/4.
It needed doors, fenders, header and valance. it had nice quarters, hood and trunk lid.
Sorry for the highjack, I had to remind myself of all the work I've put in it.

No hard feelings from me. I did ask for honesty. I don't really know what to ask as I really don't know these cars that well. I appreciate everyone's input. I have tough skin. The close pics you are referring to is the bottom of the car under the door. Honestly there's no rust at all for a 52-year-old car save a little surface rust. I forgot to mention, it looks like the PO had done some front stock suspension replacements such as the lower control arms, new ball joints it looks as tho the entire front parts have been sandblasted. Again, I do appreciate everyone's input. Off subject, here's a few of my other cars. As you can see, my interests are all over the place. The corvette is a factory big block car. The Model A is an all-steel car. the Ranger is an original 66000-mile 1989

Old people paid way less for stuff in the Stone Age. Just sayin’ lol

It looks like a pretty solid car from the pictures, has what appears to be factory a/c as you mentioned, interior is decent, etc. I do notice what looks like a new disc brake master cylinder, you said it has drums all around, I don't think $9 to $10k is unreasonable, suspension and mechanical work is far easier and cheaper than body and paint. Full disclosure, I am really partial to the 1970 model yr.
