I try to post no more than 2-3 ads in a row per day out of courtesy, so that other members ads, Gold Club, or not get seen and not buried so quickly.

However I've reached a point that I'll write what I am thinking to all members. There are 2-3 of you who are regularly posting 10-12 ads in a row. I'll not name names, but you know the ones.

Now while I've inquired with Joey and there are no rules that state you can't do this, can we not have some common courtesy in trying to not bury everyone's ads?

I mentioned to Joey that several other boards I belong to have a two ad in a 24 hr. period limit. Which works out really well allowing everyone to be seen before it goes to the next page.

If you are posting 10-12 ads in a row it seems to me your no longer doing this as a hobby, Gold Member or not.

So I ask you all to consider maybe not posting more than 3 ads at a time and then maybe some more a few hours later. This allows everyone to get at least a little time on the front page.

Thanks,
Tom

At times when i post my parts for sale, i may list 6, 7, of them at one time, because i prefer to keep my ads consecutive with one another, and not all over the place on one, two, or three, different pages.
Makes it lots easier for me to keep track of what I'm selling, or on the other hand, not selling at the moment.
That's why i do it, the way it works for me.
Hope I'm not one of the guys that your P*#%#ED off at?
And I'm a "Gold Member" at $50.00 bucks a year to pay for, advertise here, on this forum, that i don't have any complaints with.
Just my .02 cents worth, in this rely of mine.

Can I suggest typing out in your ad, a city and state.

I see lots of ads without this, or just with a zip code.

Are you talking about me? hemi71x?
My city and state is clearly printed out, in my user id picture.
Easy enough to look there.

hemi71x, I don't think your were being referred to but there a lot of other members that it applies to.

I see some Members who have great ratings, fair prices, etc... post 8-10 ads in a row for small individual items, which knocks a bunch off the latest page. For real, Your tail-lamp lenses, door handles, & sun-visors(etc.) can be in one posting,...9 items in 3..not 9 posts, JMO..

you have touched on a tough subject for sure. It worries me that if members are limited in their number of posts that they will just flat out not post anything anymore and ebay here we come. This Forum has a lot of good people that post parts for prices far less than "retail" or "ebay" pricing. Also the knowledge of the parts that are being posted is incredibly valuable. The forum for the most part is mopar specific and set up in separate classified sections so things are easier to find. Getting items that are sold out of the way would be helpful to keep the lists shorter and keeping the commentary out which I am also guilty of clogs up the flow. Killer6 also touched on a valid point of grouping or lots which would shorten the amount of listings. Look at Hemi71x for example. This guy is selling his life's work and some of the things he has are rare, excellent examples of mopar history and parts that are needed by other members. There is a lot we can all do to make it better.

You are supposed to do that. (post single items instead of a whole group) It's a suggestion in the sale rules. It's way easier to keep track of things if there's only one item you're selling or a buyer is asking questions about.

There's a lot of people here that sell parts. Some are just cleaning out their garage. Some piece cars out and sell the parts. They may do it as a hobby for extra cash or even for a legit business. Some people have a wholesale account at a performance warehouse and they resell parts. I guess that's OK too. I don't see an issue here. Like I mentioned before the sale rules suggest that you have individual ads for each item. 10 parts, 10 ads and probably all in a row. Now if members abuse that with 3 pages full, there might be a problem. Just use a little common sense.

Easiest way to put an end to it is to buy everything that person posts

I agree but we have a very sucessful network of parts here that really helps the hobby.
Kinda sounds like an advantage to me

Not only can I find the parts I need here, I can also find the help I need to get it all installed properly

It's like a one stop shop

If I put something up for sale I give All the information needed, take none blurry pictures from all angles, and always put my location in the add at the end of my post, with my zip code and location. I do not take a picture off the internet and use that as a picture!! This is in the rules, yes I have had that problem with a member and he called me out on it in the thread instead of sending me a private conversation.
When there is a post made with just picture and a price that member is fishing for free bumps, thinking they can take advantage of a situation They caused.. so I am the first to ask at times, and get an answer.. yep play nice everyone, and please, please don't be rude to the staff members.

Thank you all, yes I am smiling as I type.

I respectfully disagree. If somebody wants to offer the group 3000 parts get them out there so we can have at them lol. Those are usually the best sales when a guy cleans house. Look at all of the cool stuff JohnGTX sold out of the Super Stock racing operation.

As for the comment if business vs. hobby not one of us should be judged for that. My hobby has to be for profit of else we don't get to the race track. It has been like that for me and all of my racing buddies for as long as I can remember. Capitalist Democracy anyone?

The 3rd thing I want to point out is that time is tight for many of us. I might have two rainy Saturdays a year to clean out the shop attic and drop a bunch of parts for sale. I won't ever tell anyone how to use thier own free time. I just don't think it is right to dictate how others operate in free enterprise. That is how bracket racing started lol. Cannot compete so handicap everyone.

Again, I say all of this with no disrespect intended. Just one guy's opinion.

Happy New Year!

Another thing to do if you do disagree is to quote the post you are disagreeing with. Just sayin.

1 part per ad is ridiculous, I don't do that.
And we don't get after people for that (or we shouldn't if we do) It's your ad and you will be the one to handle the confusion. I have seen some very well organized multi part ads that shouldn't be a problem for the seller or buyer.

I'm as disappointed as you are

Maybe we could place a wanted add for it

Im Honestly kinda glad it’s gone. Number one it was to easy to hit by mistake. I would usually catch it but I’m sure I missed some because I post probably 98% from my phone and it’s so easy to miss. Number 2 I’ve received my share and I would love to hear their explanation to why they disagree. Man up and post up.
