When the dude slams the door shut...I can feel the frustration. It's the same frustration I have when my Dart doesn't fire until I hit THREE pumps of the accelerator pump in this weather and let it fast idle for five minutes.

Oh wait, no, it isn't.

NGL, my Ram needs a block heater in this weather. But at least the battery will take a charge without me having to hit a 'pre-condition' button on a touch screen that won't work when it's this cold.

"I never thought we'd see this..."
She's just like the rest....she never thought at all.
"It's not the car, it's the infrastructure"
Yeah, I usually blame the infrastructure when I've been told for years that there's no infrastructure for the expensive electric thing I just bought that doesn't work because....physics.

Even my phone won't work when it's this cold. Tesla didn't do their homework.

All any of these people have to do is less than five minutes research before they buy and they'll know the truth. It's their own fault.

Appropriate here as it was in the other thread.

The news is usually a lot of doom and gloom. It's nice when they run feel good, happy story like this.

People are reasoning creatures, not reasonable ones.

But us wealthy people get to stick it to the plebs, with that sweet 6-8 thousand dollar incentive.
You mean the one that I paid that's not buying border fences or battleships?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
During the cold snap here late last week, when temperatures were hitting -40*f, the demand was high enough that we were threatened with rolling blackouts on Saturday night. Imagine what it would be like if we all had electric cars charging.

And having to keep charging, because they have to run battery heaters or you're hosed....

Hey I'm all for spendin money on battleships. I think all FOUR should be refitted and recommissioned. It'd get my vote.

All joking aside (which I've enjoyed, by the way!), what I find most interesting about this is the lack of response, or Customer Service, from Tesla. While it's true that these people may have made an error in judgement regarding their respective purchases, I can't help but wonder how this will further tarnish whatever reputation Tesla has so meticulously attempted to create, should they continue to remain silent.

(And I know, I know: "Who cares!!!")

Without getting into politics you have to ask yourself who buys these cars. Swallow the hype and pay the price.

Been well know for years now EVs dont work well in cold climates. Even if you could charge them the electric heaters dramatically reduce range in cold climates making them suitable only for short trips and requiring frequent recharges. Long trips in below freezing temps in an EV nope thats a well known limitation.

The best thing I got out of this besides the laugh at the nimrods, was the mention of a block heater. I just remembered that my 04 Dodge diesel truck has one from the factory! I used it a few times back when I first got it because I'd never had one before.....lol.

My old boss bought one brand new. 0-60 in 3 secs. He immigrated from India for a better life. He's a vegan Hindu pacifist that abhors firearms. He makes a lot of money although he is inept and without skills. But he has learned how to look good and make himself look good. And he has learned to talk good, using impressive words but saying or committing to nothing. He is a professional talker and that's all you need to succeed in academia. Still, he has heart and I came to like him.

One of my favorites that has happened many times.
At the weekly 'team' meeting, someone mentions a task that needs done and then proposes a solution that cannot be accomplished by talk. A task that requires actual hands on work. His generic and overused reply: "sounds like a good idea!" Then everyone looks at each other and says nothing. LOL

A guy a work has one, I did not see it in the parking lot today.
He had a V-6 Mustang he used to make it to work everyday it snowed. Old beat down mustang he drove since his rich parents bought it for him as a first car.
So much for Teslas, cannot make it in a few inches of snow.

Had another co-worker ask for a ride to the dealership to pick his Tahoe up, he said that Tesla rode like a 2.5 ton log truck, he said the ride was horrible.

If people like them, they can buy them, I don't care. Not going to wish ill on them, or insult them, any more than any other choices in vehicles. I don't care for electric cars, though. No character to them, and the few times I've ridden in them, I got motion sickness. I think it's the electric instant smooth acceleration...I don't get carsick in regular cars, just electrics.

No offense to you but people like that are worthless. They build nothing, they fix nothing but sure seem quick to tell you how to do everything (in theory, never from experience)
People like this write laws and guidelines like DEI, OSHA and other stuff that doesn't work in the real world.
