I am in the process of replacing everything on the front of my 67 Barracuda.
QA1 -UCA / LCA /FIRM FEEL Strut Rods/ Pitman/ LBJ/Idler arm/ Hellwig sway bar
I drive hard through twistys
Wanna upgrade Tie rods AND ends and get rid if split sleeve.
Any Recommendations ? Hotchkis ?
I have the 68-72 K member CENTER LINK and KH front discs

Thanks to the group

For street use I would stay away from the Hotchkis stuff just because it’s heim joints. I haven’t run them at the tie rod location, but at the UCA the Hotchkis heims were only lasting about 7k miles on the street on my Challenger.

QA1 makes a steel adjuster
1974 PLYMOUTH DUSTER QA1 52325 QA1 Heavy-Duty Tie Rod Sleeves | Summit Racing

Proforged makes an aluminum adjuster
1974 PLYMOUTH DUSTER Proforged Chassis Parts 105-10048 Proforged Billet Aluminum Tie Rod Sleeves | Summit Racing

Both of these would use the stock style tie rod end, but eliminate the split sleeve which was really the weak point.

There are also 11/16” sleeves and ends available, although I run thr 9/16” stuff and haven’t had any issues. The old recommendation to upgrade to 11/16” tie rod ends and sleeves was from when only split sleeves were available, I don’t think it’s really necessary with the non-split sleeve style adjusters available now.

Thanks so much for advise and tip on the QA1 pieces.
After looking into it, I pulled the trigger on the HD sleeves by QA1 and Moog ends.

Make sure you check the Moog ends for play and tension. Their quality has really dropped off, I’ve gotten brand new tie rod ends that were extremely loose and others that were practically frozen.

I’ve been using Proforged tie rod ends, as well as some of the other suspension parts they make. They’ve all been pretty good quality. Moog nowadays is a roll of the dice for quality

+100 on this

just did a complete front end rebuild and out of an abundance of caution i ordered two complete kits-- 1 moog, 1 proforged.

i only used the moog problem solver UCA bushings, everything else got proforged and the moog stuff got sent back.

^ Agree 100%.
I've been using Proforged Tie rod ends and have been really happy with them. The Moog stuff I used before lasted only a few years.
Speaking of which I'm about to replace the Pitman arm which is Moog with Proforged pretty soon. The Moog Pitman arm I'm using was installed in 2013 it's now just about gone and I'd imagine those now will probably won't even last nearly that long.

agree. i won't use moog anymore.. did the entire front end in our dart with moog. car never felt right. drove me nuts.. ended up being a binding lower ball joint. brand new junk.

Thanks to all for responses.
I hear ya on the Moog quality issues. Proforged tie rod ends are also on the way.
On Pitman arms --- Having trouble sourcing the Proforged NON 383 version.
Has anyone used Firm Feel ?
