This is one of available options I found when searching for a 318 cap and rotor online.

I can sell you those for half that price. Meet Guido at midnight behind the bowling alley for details...

You can just figure things are twice the money they used to be.

So I buy what I need, and make everything else I need or fix what I got to keep the project rolling.

Just ordered Door Window Whiskers for a D100 $75 bucks.

Used to be $35.00

That's gotta be wrong.

We're going to Autozone tonight to buy a battery for my wife's 27,000 mile 2020 hyundai kona.

Ya just don't get 5 years out of a "5 year battery" anymore, do ya?

It's a somewhat oddly shaped AGM. Cost at dealer is over $400.

Autozone has one for $265.

Keep the receipt for the warranty. I've had their AGM batteries fail. They just hand you a new one when they do.

Several places, specifically wal-mart have reworded their battery warranties, so that the term never changes, and you are effectively buying a time frame, and not a product.

IE, you buy a "3 year" battery and you get a replacement or pro-rated replacement for 3 years.

If it fails at the 3 year and one day mark from the original purchase date, you get nothing, even if it was replaced 2 days prior.

Autozone (and most if not all companies in USA) have mediocre for employees these days. I'm sure its a typo.

I generally figure any warranty these days is a sham. Years ago Pep Boys had "lifetime" starter and alternators in the 80s and 90s , but they'd fail on the coldest day in winter. i got tired of laying under my K-5 Blazer in the winter wrenching starters off with numb fingers and bought a good one eventually

They should just sell a product that works!

My favorite is-

"Lifetime" warranty means- lifetime of the part.

No. No, it does not. Because that effectively means there is no warranty at all.

Yup. 30 years ago lifetime was as long as you own the vehicle. I used to toss a starter on the counter and say "Id like a new one please..."

Everything is just getting crazy price wise. I buy hundreds of auto and race parts everyday.
They aren't calling today the silent depression for nothing..... the cost of everything is more % wise, cost of living compared to income then it was in the great depression area.
We are just more used to it due to a slower rise.

Auto zone I've personally seen them run a good Car quest staffed with parts professionals out of town now they are "the only one". They literally opened shop a half a block away on the corner down from the Car Quest which was in an old 1950s GM dealership. I usually buy on line, isn't cheaper but I don't have to deal with the McDonalds employee at the Auto zone counter.

Car Quest has been owned by AZ's main competitor- Discount/Advance for a few years now.

There are still some CQ branded stores around here, one right around the corner from where I'm sitting at work.
For whatever reason, their prices are a bit higher for the same part at Advance, but they do have a few more specialized tools and parts.
Until very recently, they were one of only two places to stock my "Ferrari spec" oil for my turbo Renegade.
They also had my "flip over" lug nut socket, which turned out to be much harder to find than I expected.

A CQ closing may be because there's a higher volume Advance nearby.
That's what happened to the CQ near my house.

Yeah I mean the CQ was the typical "had it all or can get it" place that supplied the auto businesses as well as do it yourselfers. Had real parts guys/gals behind the counter. I ll admit though a seasoned parts guy can be a pita as in I ask for a certain size bolt he says "a 67 Chevy requires this bolt" I say "just give me what i asked for..."but, I digress. Anyway this place had all the name brands the y even ha da body section where you could buy everything and do a single stage paint job. I mean yes its a cheap paint job but its nice to be able to go there and buy the stuff to do a basic backyard repaint I miss that. I had a recent experience at Advance where I said "do you have Plastiguage?" the guy was like "No" I pulled it up on my phone and said "says here you do..." he walked in the back came back said "sorry" fact is he didnt know what or where it was if the y did have it. A parts guy would know and get it quick.

I got 2 bad dizzys from Rock, 2 bad ones from Amazon, finally one good one from Amazon (Cardone). Still in there. A far cry from my Accel billet one from the 90's or an original mopar though

Used parts is where it's at !!!now check out all the swap meets double the people.... I bet Carlisle's going to be super packed this year

We have a local battery sales place where I`ve been buying batteries for over 20+ years.
5 year lead acid, lasting 7 years. I`ve just had to replace 2 within a week. They`re not $50 anymore, $126 for a recent one. I looked at the one in my Dodge, 7 years old, probably going to go south soon but shows no sign of it yet. Good batteries...

Two Orielys trailer batteries went bad. They only warranty trailer batteries for one year. Warrant expires in July. They handed me two new batteries with a new warranty.

I got the hyundai battery at O'Reilly's.

The others available were Johnson Controls made and I have not had the best of luck with them.

It was slightly larger than the OEM, and I had to cut the jacket/heat barrier.

It is higher CCA, though at 780 vs 660.

I also found out that they only make 3 year batteries in group 48 AGM, so 4.5 years out of the OEM is pretty good.

As an aside, the staff at O'Reilly's was shocked that I knew what model battery I wanted and that I had the application correct.
