I was working at the rock farm in the next county long ago. Vastly different climate from here. Had a 3500' pass to go through on the way to work. One winter night we had a rain shower. On the other side of the pass were a couple of bridges that were the pre-cast beams with the concrete deck poured on top. Well it got kinda cold up there on the pass that night. I was just motoring along like normal and the next thing I know me and my Yota 4x4 are all crossed up sliding down that bridge
. Deck was maybe 16" thick, nothing but sub-freezing air above and below, frozen concrete 
. The rest of the roadway was unaffected.
I remember the snow shovel days back then really well. LOL
They were called sons and teenagers
I did my whole block, great money for a kid like $10 a house in the 70's!
Yea and thought we were rich. The good old days for sure.
Went right into slot car stuff then.
I did dirt bikes as a hobby and miss riding. Think I'd need training wheels now.
I mowed yards in the early/mid 60's. Did enough to loan dad 250.00 for a down payment on a new work pickup after about a year or so of mowing yard @ 2 bucks each. Lot size was about 1/4 acre but the houses were small. I still live close to the neighborhood where I lived as a kid and the houses were mostly about 1100 sq ft. St. Augustine isn't exactly easy to mow either when it's high (6" is high) unless the mower is self propelled...and mine wasn't.
That I miss I was big int bikes. Vertigo sucks steals all the things I used to do.

I have people I know with teenage sons that PAY for someone to mow their lawn.
I had to cut the grass at home until I married at 23 year old. Then it started all over again on my own lawns

Good deal outside. No frogs to drive through on the way to first health care appointment 
Started mowing yards in late 63 at 12 years old. Dad bought the mower from a cousin that bought a new self propelled mower and sold the old one to us for 20 bucks. Paid dad back AND mowed our yard to boot.I have people I know with teenage sons that PAY for someone to mow their lawn.
I deal with that too but mine is mild these days. Started 25+ years ago. Doc thinks I had an inner ear infection. It was pretty bad at first though...
Damn. Doesn't sound like fun at all.
All dad told me was to save my money lol. Tried to teach my kids but hard to teach girls that stuff.....at least my girls. I mentioned to my youngest that went to an expensive art school in NY that she might think about taking some business courses too and she jumped all over me like she already knew it all and I was just another dumbass. Really good artist but super slow and not too bright in business matters.
Yeah. Artistic brains are a challenge to get interested in the business side

They do the same here, the brine they put down before an ice or snow event arrives, seems to do a good job, but yes, get everywhere on/in a car, look at a black car in a parking lot after brine has been put down, unreal.
