anyone run drag radials

I had them on a car that was 90% street driven/raced and 10% track, when you drive them on the steet for a while they will get a bit harder and not pick up stuff quite so bad but with a mild burnout they are soft again. When I sold the car I had around 20-30 passes at the track and around 2k street miles (and not real easy ones) and they were about 70% so they can last a while. They did hook awesome on the street, had to roll out a little but then it went.

what cam from them?

these tires hook....my dad left tire marks on the driveway from a little blip of the throttle (man if that was me id be dead meat LOL)...they hook good, but they are soft and will wear out quick...also, these tires arent good in the rain, so just a headsup if you ever get stuck in bad weather

Me and my mate use them, him 10.8 and me 12.3 I only use them for race nights get 2.5 - 3 years out of the last set.
My mate (Green Charger in vid) has got 1.55 60' using them on the street and the strip. His are now around 1.5 years old.
Watch the last launch they do hook up nicley for a standard suspension street car.

Both 235's

A 360-- Impressive Video!! Must be fun. You've got it down, hardly any squeal. If you don't mind? What combination are you running and what brand of tires? Slicks, cheater slicks, Radials? I'd come and watch you, but you,re too far away. How many months out of the year can you race? 8)

E/T streets are sticky DOT approved street slicks basically and hook like mad but as others mentioned they fade fast and are very sticky, but don't get caught in the rain unless you are very experienced at driving on frozen lakes because there is not much difference between the two.

I am running M/T sportsman pro's and they have much the same characteristics as the E/T streets and suck in the rain, very scary stuff in heavy rain and traffic if you get caught in a sudden storm.

I am looking at the M/T SR-radials for a more highway friendly oriented tire.
My buddy has the 22 in wide ones on his tubbed 54 chevy truck and loves them, even pretty darn good in the rain considering the width.

Ain't that the truth. I'm running 28x12.5x15 ET/Street tires on the Demon. One Sunday evening in 2000, I was driving my Demon back to where I kept it stored. I was trying to get back before the storm hit. I was maybe 2 minutes away when the torrential rains hit. I was going up a big hill 2 blocks away, but it was just pouring out. The tires started spinning 1/2 way up the hill. Just like being on ice. I started sliding backwards with traffic coming up behind me. I was able to parallel park the Demon against a curb until the rains stopped. Scary as hell sliding backwards downhill in traffic. My butt gave it a pucker power of 8.5 :bootysha:

wylde1 and cudaspaz, i think you guys are mistaken...this thread is refferring to drag radials, and the e/t streets are not radials, but bias ply DOT approved slicks pretty much...the drag radials M/T makes are the Et street radials, similar to et streets, but with radial construction and water vanes on the side (a little bit better than e/t streets in the rain, but not by much)...both are very good hooking tires

NE1 try the Nitto, looks like they last a lot longer and hook well on the street, but not as good on the strip.

never used them personally...a buddy of mine has them on his mustang II and they are honestly more of a daily driver type of tire...better in the rain than all the other drag radials, but anything more than a 13 second car at strip and there is no hook (ive heard others say the same as well)...

They don't hook up very well. I pulled it out of the garage and drove it around the block. It was a little cold with no windshield. 8)

Yeah but at least you didn't get any bugs in your teeth.

drag radials CAN hook like slicks.

if your car is set up for them .

Those tires can go REAL fast........ google it .

id post a link , but i cant due to Mopar blood.

those are the best drag radials youll be very happy with them but wish they last longer.

Same thing happened to me. I was going up a hill at 50mph and the tach started climbing so I feathered the throttle and pretty soon I had traffic behind me and I was down to 35mph! I barely made it over the hill and home. That's when I switched to BFG Drag Radials for the street. At the track I run ET Street Radials. Two sets of wheels solved my problem!
