Hello,
New in the forum.
I am in the middle of the restoration process of a 71 mexican super bee. is going to be white outside with white inside.
I am building it in memory of my father that had one when i was 13 years old and love the car. I wash it every weekend and it was my dream car, now i am 52.
The only not original parts on the car will be. Instead a 318 engine it will be a 360 magnum stock to 426 and the wheels will be american racing with T/A tires.
Having some isure with some parts like the rear red lights for the stop, don't find them new??

Really cool cars!..I saw in one of the pics it looks like the floor shifter knob is the same as the column type knob, is that correct?

Yes, is plastic but looks like wood. I found a new original shifter and knob that it will be install in my car.
I have see this as re porduction knob in some stores

Thank you very much PapstXX. A good friend of mine that own a body shop and has been a Mopar guy all his life is doing the work.

Part of the front suspension is install. Front and rear are KYB A-Just gas shocks painted in black how the Mexican Super Bee had them. The rear (differential) was restored and it was added a posi traction.

Fantastic Bee and as you can see from my avatar, your car has a special place in my heart. My photo is of my 72 340 (long gone), pic was taken about 1973. It was Lemontwist w/4 speed and bench seat.
What interior did yours come with from the factory? My 72 had those funky black & white checked (herringbone?) inserts in the black seats. I will be watching your great project with real interest. Keep up the good work.

Thank you very much SpikeWills69. Really don't know the original color this car came with. Mines will be re done in white. My father use to have one white exterior with with interior, this is the reason of the color i choose, in memory of my father and a car i love when i was young.

How hard is it to get one of these? I never heard of them and now i want one........how rare are they?

I'd be seriously interested in getting the speedometer out of the rallye cluster. It would be nice to have it in kilometers rather then miles being in Canada

This is the dash of my bee, the speedometer in kilometers jejee

Greetings

mopar or no car!!!!!!!!!!!

It's very hard to find one. I live in the northeast of Mexico, the city is Monterrey and we are 3'000,000 of people. I haven't seen one since a very long time. very near the border of Texas. They were very popular in the 70's and the guys that buy them race them a lot... Searching in a couple of mexican web pages i found my 71, but in very poor shape. I found it in the city of Mexico (1 hour flight form home). The seats are bucket like the 70 Duster but the texture is different form the US version. The big black decal on the quarter panel with the round Super Bee and bee is a Mexican site. I buy the round super bee decal in the states but need to fabricate the big decal. The steering wheel is like a 70 cuda car (imitation of wood with 3 black bards) and it came with the shack grill. The only size of the engine available was 318 with standard trans, No auto.
and some miner details different form the Duster.

David,

I have traveled a lot on the streets of Mexico..are you beefing up your suspension ? Are all age clusters in the Dusters are in Kms ? I am replacing all my guages and putting in a speedo that resisters in Kms..
