Heads are off and at the machine shop getting a great deal of work.

2.02 and 1.60 valves going in, pocket porting. Now I'm looking for a set of good roller adjustable rockers. I do not want to spend $500 for a set though. This engine is installed in my 1988 Wrangler where I drive it like I stole it. I have the rev limiter set at a low 5500 rpm to be safe and usually hit that going up the sand hills.

I'm looking to go with 1.6:1 ratio

thanks!

Pro comp stainless with warranty=$289-$319 a set w/ shafts.

cranes are great but not made anymore and r aluminum on the shaft which likely wears out faster.jmo

comp cams wants yer 1st born child for a set, harland sharp wants the same but at least you get a real 'tried and true' race piece.
Rocker specialties & T&D both want yer 1st born + a testical and yer last beer, but are really top notch rockers.

here's an area you can really spend in.

One thing fo sho is if you are having the heads done, get the rockers to them before they choose the stem length to use and cut stem heights.

I am considering using a set of rockers from a mid-sixities 273. These are adjustable since the 273 was a solid lifter cam. However, they are 1.5 to 1 ratio.

I calculated that with the 1.6 rockers my lift will be: 0.493 int. / 0.501

For springs I'm not sure. I need to ask the engine builder. I believe he said around 120 seat pressure and 320 open.

i have always read that pro comp stuff were junk. I've been told the PRW are not so bad....?

Comp cam magnum roller rockers..you get what you pay for,an excellent product..

Yea thats the thing.... I don't want to go cheap and ruin the engine....but I do not want to spend 600 either.

I hate making decisions on this stuff :( ajdsfkl;jsafd;93u09[3u[qhj34fasef

check out the shipping date on the crane rockers....LOL

crane was out of business for awhile...dont know if they have gotten to making mopar rockers arms....which i am sure is high on their list...LOL

My vote goes towards the Hughes Engines rocker arms...I have their shaft mount system on my 408 stroker.

wellllll I guess I got ahead of myself here fellas.

Looking on comp cams site, they do not specify that I need an adjustable rocker arm set up. The 20-223-3 on up requires them with their premium lifters.

So I think it would be foolish to spend $500+ on something I really do not need just to gain a few hp??? Or am I missing the bigger picture here?
