They ruined the spring that holds the jack....I ain't bidding on that thing now!

    Rear end

Go to a self serve car wash with spray wands, and blast all that crud off the cover. Be prepared to get splattered with some of it....lol. If you get that junk off the cover and bolts, you will be able to see the gear ratio tag unless someone has removed it. I'll start the betting that it's 2.45...

How many times has a parts car become a builder

I had a 74 Dart Sport that a guy on Moparts gave me to get it out of his yard so the War Dept. would quit  at him. All I had in it was the cost of diesel to go get it an hour away. It sat around for years and I would rob do dads off of it for other cars every now and then. Years later, I...

I'd love to have an Orange Cougar Eliminator. A guy I went to high school with had one. It had a 428 Cobra Jet engine....not sure if it came in it or not.

    Parts Cache

Doc....congrats on the great score! Here's an idea about sealing up things that might rust if stored long term. My wife has a kitchen do dad called a Food Saver. It's a vacuum pack thingy that you put food in thick plastic bags and it sucks the air out of the bag and then heat seals the end so...

Got a new Truck (new to me)

My plan for the kickdown linkage on mine with the 5.9 is to source something from a truck or van that came with a 46RH or 46RE since I'm keeping the MPFI and beer keg intake. I think that setup might be a cable if I remember right.

You do a good job of finding stuff! Me? I have a tote container full of 50 years of linkage stuff that I dump into the floor and sift around and hope I find something....lol. Did you get the kickdown arm that bolts on the trans from a Dodge dealer or find it NOS?

Part of the reason that my '70 340 Duster may be disappearing!!

Keep your Duster and just make the payments on the machine. My wife is a quilter too, and gone to a quilt show right now! Her sister has a Handy Quilter? longarm machine that they both run the heck out of between the 2 of them. Does your wife's machine have the computer deal that makes it pretty...

SUPER CHARGER BIG PAIN IN THE A**

Wayne....I can't offer any help, but maybe give you a laugh. One of my best friends has a body shop, like you, and has painted his whole life. He was building a car several years ago and got the idea to put a Procharger supercharger on the 470 stroker he was putting in the car. He had all kinds...

    Parts Cache

I see more than enough stuff laying there to make it worth the money. $4K in intakes, $1600 in Gull Wing spoilers......on and on. Besides that, both @RAT ROD AL and @GTX JOHN didn't balk at it...and those gentlemen know their stuff! I'm betting it's close enough for you to transport yourself...

Pics of how dougs headers and a borgenson steering box fit.

Yeah, it's not all that bad....but I would think the Borgeson box is a little smaller than a manual Mopar box is why it surprised me. I've never seen a Borgeson and Mopar manual side by side though. It could easily be clearanced with a little heat, 1" socket and a few taps with a BFH.

Thanks for posting the pics. I would have thought it would have 47 miles of room with the little box.

If you have any play in the steering, check the frame rail where the steering box bolts on. My 88 has a lot of play, and the frame rail is cracked. It has the add on diagonal brace, but still cracked. I'm gonna fix it when I down the truck to do the Magnum swap. It currently isn't driven other...

    Tuff Wheel removal

The good news is, the can is a whole lot easier to get off of an A body column than the can is to remove on an E body column. You need real long puller bolts to get an E can off and it's still a pain! :BangHead:

    Oil filter question.

Used to, you could get FL1A's at Wal Mart dirt cheap. They never have them anymore. If they haven't changed in the last little bit, Mann & Hummel still makes Wix filters in Gastonia, NC.

    Oil filter question.

NAPA Gold filters are Wix filters, according to the manager at my local NAPA. That's all I use and never had a problem with them. I've used Motorcraft FL1A's in the past on my small block Mopars and never had a problem out of them either. ANYTHING but a Fram! :realcrazy:

I'd say he just wants to keep extra heat out of the cab by cutting off flow to the heater core. It gets hotter'n the hinges of hell in FL, so anything helps!

Got a new Truck (new to me)

If you do the front rotor swap, that will be the easy part if what I have read is correct. You could pull a rear wheel and drum, then look to see if there is enough flange on the axle to have drilled to 4.5 bolt pattern and also turn the center register down to what you need for drums that fit...

    My Dad's 67 Satellite- A bittersweet day

That's a sad, but great story. Such a beautiful car that your Dad has taken very good care of. I'm with you on the getting stuff for free and not feeling like you worked for it. I'll bet that fancy schmancy new jack saves a lot of huffing and puffing to jack it up! Been a long time since I've seen one like that. Do they have a way to lock it in position to make sure it doesn't fall? Glad the report is good on the trans and rearend...
