CNC Mill Mark Removal in Intake Port

The problem with the DV Quote-bot, it is not in context, DV was stating that simply smoothing the surface of most as-cast heads results in very little to no gain...flow-wise...not that there is not a desired surface to increase output & decrease BSFC.... And screw the drag stuff, run a circle...

    Torque converter bolts?..

You say that, but we used to have a tech at the Toyotee dealer where I worked years ago that was terrible about cross threading nuts and bolts. We just told him that was his form of locktite. LOL He was a young kid, maybe 19 at the most and still learning. Believe it or not. He was the lead tech...

RRR, I will tell you why you do IDLE TIMING first..... You bolt on your carb, factory 12* of initial timing. You find the mixture screws are not adjusting the mixture; you are able to screw them all the way in...& engine still runs. You remove the carb & find too much transfer slot is exposed...

    Power steering gear valve question

I understand that both hoses attached to it, but what I am asking is the adjustment sequence where the bolts need to be a little loose is that between the front and back section of the control valve or the control valve mounted to the steering box. Thanks again for your help and patience.

    Torque converter bolts?..

Laugh as you may, but this is an area that you need to pay attention to. Just as there always critical areas you have to pay attention to on anything mechanical. If it takes 44 post to get peoples attention and get the correct bolts installed then so be it. There is not a lot of clearance...

From the beginning of time, everyone I have ever known with any smarts has always, always, ALWAYS said Carburetor FIRST and then timing. Then usually zoom in on the carburetor after that. That's how I've done it a very long time and it's always worked well. Different folks do different stuff...

On resistor spark plugs. Circle Track tested about 10-12 heli-wound plug wires that had different ohms per foot. The test was to see if resistance affected the hp. There was a small HP difference between the best & the worst, & the winner did NOT have the lowest resistance. That is likely due to...

1967 Plymouth Barracuda - Fuel tank not vented properly??????

Was a new tank. But you are correct in that I always try to "completely" fill my tanks when I gas up. This is the first time I've EVER had this issue with any of my cars. The applicable service manuel is not Barracuda specific. It's an A-Body manual. That has consequences, in that start at...

    Engine Installation

A carb plate works fine with most cast intakes. Heavily ported intake, billet stuff, etc. should use a spreader bar and hook to the ends of the heads. Can also pick up from the exhaust bolts if you have a weird intake like a cross ram.
