    Magnum Heads On 340

Why not use Fel-Pro gaskets and match port the gaskets to fit over the gap and under the exhaust lower port. Should be enough pressor to stop a leak. Never had this issue on a sb Mopar, but I did on a Chevy 350 and had to double up on the gaskets to get a good cushion seal.

Swap meet was small. HIGH PRICED JUNK. Only deal I saw, that a friend of mine bought, was a 66/67 charger grille, complete with headlight doors, motors and everything. 2 separate car shows. Mopar and corvette. Lots of different stuff on the mopar side. Only carshow entrants could vote on best...

    Nv3500 vs ax15

I had 3.07s in a wrangler with the AX15 and 5th was all but useless under 55 with a stick 4.0 inline 6 and 235 15 tires even more so with the 31/10.50s I had on it for a while. I wouldn't worry about an OD trans with gears (numerically) lower than 3.21/3.23.

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

Yeah been doing that. I’ll keep trying. It’s partly luck….and well if I didn’t have bad luck Id have no luck at all. Lol

    Tires make a HUGE difference!

A couple of 1/4 mile runs from this morning. Personal bests! The slower run despite having the better 60’ and higher g’s was slower I believe because of the slight grade and a bumpy road. The real interesting part is I disconnected the secondaries on both carbs for these runs. Looks like I...

    Nv3500 vs ax15

Think you have that backwards I put a NV3500 in my 93 318 Dakota with 3.55's that came to me with a smoked 46RH which itself got rebuilt and stuffed into my 92 Dakota

I had a custom curve distributor done at FBO last season. After removing the Firecore that I did myself, the custom curved FBO was an absolute dog. It was 18 initial, with mechanical to 32, all in by 3000. It was like I lost 100hp. I pulled it and made adjustments to mimic my previous...

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

That's gotta be pretty frustrating. I'd maybe try a thin telescoping magnet through the pushrod hole. Then raise the lifter up and into the bore straight down guiding it with your forceps as needed. If you don't have a thin enough telescoping magnet, maybe epoxy a small neodymium magnet to the...

My W2 408 also peaks at 32 total on the dyno. The combination of long stroke and closed chamber doesn't require a lot of total timing.

I'm running virtually the same cam with just a touch less lift. One motor's cam has a 108 LSA, and goes through an 2004R and a 3800 rpm lock-up converter. The other motor has an identically sized cam, but it has 115 LSA, because its boosted. The builder says that will tame the cam...

    Help in Sarasota County Florida

Sorry for the loss of your son. What I've found while trying to put a car together after being taken apart for a while is; 1. Assemble what you know goes together. 2. Arrange parts that go to specific areas and assemble what you can. 3. If you have questions about things, post pictures with the...

360 LA getting oil in #3 cylinder.

Since this worked out, I thought I would add it to this story. At the time, I thought people may think I was crazy for filing on the deck surface. I bought a machinist's straight edge from Summit to check the block deck surface and found that the deck was pulled up at each of the top row of head...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

At our last house I had two 4x8 raised beds with a gravel weed free path in between, easy to control soil there but too much shade. I like the wire if it's small mesh, bunnies can go right through my chain link so I'm slowly adding burried mesh, which they will find a way to dig under!

    Re-Drilling Hubs

No. I also wouldn’t want to do that. Where is the twilight zone? And what car are you working on? Maybe some one close to you has the proper parts required to do this safely and may make them available to you for a reasonable price?

How would you rebuild this 318?

Seems wise. Work with what you have. The machine shop results will determine everything. Good luck.
