Maaco vs Mexico: The Hunt for Affordable Paint & Body

That red looks great on that pickup. Sweet ride man. $80/hr seems right for Maaco today.

1967 Barracuda, numbers matching 273, Doug’s hit the steering box, coupler and steering tube on a factory power steering car. I know if I cut the tube and shimmed it up, I could make it work.

The last couple weeks have been productive. We're getting the interior back in the car, I'll wait to install the front seats until the work on the dash has been completed. The carpet being in has made it a much easier working surface on my knees and back working on the dash. I plan to start on...

Does this prove David Vizard's 128 lsa formula ?

That equation can only tell single or average of a split, eg. 268/272 average duration is 270, so 110 lsa x 2 + 50* = 270

It's been a while since I posted an update. We had a major scare in August that halted any progress. We had a pretty severe storm with some strong straight line winds that dropped a tree on the garage. Thankfully there was no damage to the car, but it took about 4 months for the insurance...

Maaco vs Mexico: The Hunt for Affordable Paint & Body

I just had my D150 painted by Maaco. They did a really nice job. I didn't have them mess with small dents and I had it all stripped of trim and lights. They pulled the box, primed and painted with BC/CC including jambs and inside doors. $7200. Shop rate $80/hr. Just the paint was about $2400. I...

    A few 2-Step questions

What about a momentary button on your shifter you hold to allow the 2-step to be activated? Sorta like the line-loc button. That way the 2-step is only "awake" when you hold that button and your foot is on the brake. That would require foot and button release coordination though so maybe not...

    Enlarging PRP doesn't always help

From what I've been noticing from what I've been watching( I'm not a head porter: ), smallish engines at reasonable rpms eg.. 318-371 @ 5000-6500 rpms we have generally enough CSA available to us so it's of lesser concern, so getting the most flow for given size is generally beneficial, but once...

Does this prove David Vizard's 128 lsa formula ?

I've been doing some reading and stuff. The formula used to get duration "LSA+ (overlap÷2)x2= Duration", is it used by many cam companies? I noticed that the formula calculates with the same duration using the same 110 LSA and overlap as the multple different Comps cams that I checked, like...

    A few 2-Step questions

I thought about doing that as well. Seems like the best solution.... just need to teach myself to apply the brakes on the right side of the pedal since I like to hold the car at the line on the left side. Thanks, Bill
