    Kudos to Canadian Tire

Great pic and story! Unfortunately it's not the same at CT as it used to be. The kidlets need the rods in the water. :poke:

    Kudos to Canadian Tire

Anytime we were within an hour of the Sault we’d sneak over to do our shopping. Always included a Canadian Tire visit. Can’t believe that was 20 years ago… I used my handmade paddle from there just this morning! Big Fans

HEI Conversion Question and Holley 2280 Lingering Issue

The wiring when I got the truck, along with everything else was 100% stock, just poorly maintained. Fusible links were all still in place and intact. Surprisingly. The factory design of the B+ sensing signal for the voltage regulator is notorious for having a constant droop due to the myriad...

    MoPar A bodies in Peril

Someone owns those cars and to each their own but that's like rubbing your nose in it. At least with the junkyard finds, you can drag 'em home and make it your own.

    How does this look?

My next step was to use manifold vacuum to give the engine what it wants. The bottom end is stock 5.9 magnum, with advertised 9:1 compression. Not sure what seat to seat timing is.

    318LA build

I know it is, but with its duration at 0.050 wouldn't it move the power band up? Also aren't the sbm know for coil bind at over .500 lift? And to the op may not want a rough idle.

    Restart the rebuild

Nothing exciting, inner springs installed and set reset valves at 0.022. A little too late to fire it up again:rolleyes: so that will have to wait till tomorrow.

    Inner valve springs

Well if I NEVER have to do dbl springs again it'll be too soon lol. Especially with heads installed. If I do ever do them off the engine, I'll mod the big C clamp that someone posted.

    Stock location or remote?

When I built my Demon it uses a Milodon in the tank pick up and an external line to the pump. It uses the oil filter in the stock location. All this is with a motor plate. Fits really good. Ted

    F.A.S.T at Empire Dragway 5/24/24-5/26/24

They were at US131 earlier this year. Track prep there is stellar. Guy in charge of prep( son of the general manager) is sometimes hired to do prep at big events elsewhere. Know he has prepped at Rockingham and Tulsa recently Sadly, I suspect because of a somewhat dreary forecast, not many FAST...

You might brush up on cam timing specs, the Whiplash is designed for low compression engines.

    18" Wheel help

So it looks like those Konigs have different hub bores depending on the width of the wheel. The 73.1mm bore will fir over the Mopar hub, but it depends on how thick the wheel is at the mount and how much the hub bore tapers to the wheel cap. The 71.5mm size will need to be opened up. It’s hard...

    Speed Master Heads

I have a 1970 Dart with power steering, I am currently running a 1973 340 with stock heads and Dougs D453 headers. I am going with Speed Master aluminum heads and a new set of headers. My question is will I still be able to use the same headers (D453) and still have the same clearances, or is...

Time to start the build up

So my next order of business is to prep the block for assembly. My current plan is this: 1. I need to get out the dial bore gauges and double check piston bore clearances. Same for mains. 2. I'll debur and smooth the oil drain backs. 3. I'll test install the cam just to make sure it spins...

    318LA build

Hey there hot rod, did you happen to notice that I wasn't the only one who has made a cam recommendation and amount other things? Are you jealous because I thought of a cam before you did? As far as oil I don't see anything wrong with using valvoline 10w 30. For stock compression ratio I think...

    MET THIS LADY.......CHECK IT OUT

It would have been great to meet you JD. Unfortunately, timing is not one of my better assets. We will be hitting DC and Lake Placid on the way home for sure. Monday night here, and she's getting pretty windy.

    Help with Electrical Gremlin

James Whenever I make wires, after I crimp the terminals, I also solder them. This will go a long way to stop them from vibrating loose, causing problems. Hey how do all them windows work in that B-Cuda,??. That was the BIGGEST pack, and ship I ever Did, HA HA. Dave

Small block headers: worst to best fitting. List your experience.

and to think I've used Hooker fenderwell headers and Hedmen b-body headers on low deck big block Darts and Cuda's, both fit rather well. I'm pretty sure I'd be pleased with any header fitment on a small block A-body.

    Fuel gauge reading incorrectly

Do yourself a favor and put a new float on the old sending unit and reinstall it. Your other option is to install a MeterMatch unit and hope you can get it calibrated decently. Of course, you could order one from Australia, as they have the only manufacturer I've heard of with an accurate...
