    Oil filter adapter gasket location

I’m sure this has been posted somewhere before but I just bought an upgraded bolt that IS the correct length. I’ve read Mancini’s bolt is a tad too long and the head is not the same size as the crummy oe bolt. Fast Fish Auto from Kannapolis, NC makes these. He may even be a member here. Small...

Thanks man! The ad is completely gone now. A little bit of tact goes a long way. I know the moderators have a thankless job but some of them act like they need a vacation themselves. lol

Next up Mopars vs the World

Ya the Quaker big bucks race is nice to go to. Wish we were goin there and hey who knows maybe weather drives us to Quaker. I just know right now it’s hard for me to go anywhere out of town being that my daughter is so young. Keystone is just easy cause it’s so close.

Fan not centered with center of radiator

it appears that champion could have welded the side brackets closer to the edge of the radiator and that would gain at least another 1/2 in, might be something I need to have done.

Fan not centered with center of radiator

well I just measured and there is right at 1/2 in of clearance and I used the shortened clutch, I was hoping to get 3/4 in but this where I ended up. I am using the champion 3 row radiator. there is about 3/4 in between the fins and the radiator.

Found my dads original 1971 duster!

It’s been a long journey for you on this restoration of your Dad’s car. I can’t help but think the shop knows that since it’s so close to the finish line now they are dinging you for ‘extras’ to keep the bill going before you actually pick it up. And since it’s so close to being done they...

Kind of back, trying to restart the harness stuff

Apologies for not being present much. My heart issue has kicked my arse! The last three + years have kinda sucked on many fronts. On to better days. Going to try and get the headlight harness start back on track. Have to order some wire/supplies. Appreciate the well wishes and kind...

Just curious. Maybe an optical conclusion. Fins look a little close in your picture. What's your actual clearance? FWIW.........

@-Boosted- I think I got in on that Scamp ad too. I made a comment about Mike being a little overbearing. Got a nice little PM. I had to call out the injustice! Lol

[FOR SALE] 70-71 340 HP OEM Valve Covers

Correct. Merely stating they are 340 valve covers says it all. No need to also say ‘HP’ beside 340. To say 340 HP valve covers is a bit like saying ‘wet water’. Also, to the uninformed, a buyer might pay more for a set of ‘340 HP’ 70-71 valve covers compared to ‘340’ 70-71 valve covers when...

1/8 mile so no biggie. Wouldn't be able to run them on a 1/4 mile though. I'm already going through the traps with the shift light on.

Decreasing tire diameter by almost 2" will change the #'s all the way down the track and will be trapping at a higher RPM.

360 stalls on deceleration from throttle blip

Just a thought, depending on how hard you're hitting the throttle, you may have too high of a float setting in the carb.

Fan not centered with center of radiator

I seriously hope you don't intend to run your fan setup that way. Unless it's a trick of the camera, looks like you've got next to zero clearance between the fan clutch and the radiator. Throw in a bit of engine movement and you'll bore a hole right into that shiny new aluminum radiator.

    72 Swinger disc kit availability.

I used SSBC on my '71 Dart GT (formerly with 10" drums) using 5 on 4" small bolt pattern 14" X 5 1/2" factory Rallye wheels. Be aware the front track width increases by 3/8" per side (if I remember correctly). The 14" X 5 1/2" factory STEEL wheels did NOT fit my car (I wanted to go body color...

Getting fed up of high-perf , being happy with less

Great example here: My brother recently bought this 68 GT, has a mild 318 with an Edelbrock top end, 727 transmission, 8.75 rear with 3.23s and a sure grip. Not the fastest car by any means, but it ain't no slouch either. Body and interior are very nice and it drives really well. Big bolt disc...

3 more words to drive the head porters nuts.

Dad spent a very long career playing with his flowbench and heads and intake and exhaust system until he got very high numbers at low lifts. And it paid off with a highly responsive engine that flys from idle to 5800 and revs like a small Chevrolet with an aluminum flywheel. And it idles...

I would love to run a radial on mine just to set a new best and try them out. They are definitely quicker especially over my 14-32 slick. If I ever get my other car running I may be able to borrow the wheels and tires for an experiment.

    1965 Offenhauser 273!

Actually, Offenhauser still makes the valve covers (or, at least they did the last time I checked). Maybe the intakes, too. Haven't checked them, but they still have the tooling for all sorts of their vintage speed equipment. I have a recently manufactured set of them on my 65 and 67...
